The final version of a pic I've been wanting to do for a long time. So far, I only have the characters colored and completed. I've yet to make the background. I'm just putting this up to showcase their fully colored costumes.

This began with my pic of Tyler (first guy on the left) as the 5th Doctor from Doctor Who, and I decided to do my other Quirk et al kids in costumes from various sci-fi franchises (and others).

The background I created on PhotoShop and PhotoStudio. It's supposed to by a gym dressed up for a sci-fi theme party or con or some such. The "control room" backdrop was based on a an actual set design I found on Google, the Stargate was taken from a Google search and modified on my image programs, the poster on the wall is also a bit of clip art I found on Google. The star backdrop on the stage is a piece of the Deep Field image from the Hubble space telescope. The Classic Series Dalek Supreme is just a coloration of that old Dalek sketch somewhere in my gallery. I dunno if it's supposed to be a costume here or just a prop. you decide.

Other characters from left to right:

Maricar as young Uhura from the Star Trek reboot film. Naturally, the antics of the others (mostly the two boys) have caused her to take on the "I'm surrounded by morons" pose.

Nicole as Velma from Scooby Doo. Okay, so it's not a sci fi costume, but the look fit her too well to pass up.

Dick Baylor and Kaeso Immelmann as an Imperial Guard Sergeant (Warhammer 40K) and ARC Trooper Fordo (Star Wars) doing nerf gun kata. Kaeso's guns are based on the real life Nerf Maverick. I was gonna make Dick's gun look like the Nerf Firefly, but all the detail work on the rest of the pic got me tired so I just made some generic bolt gun-looking thing. Maybe Dick custom built his own bolt pistol nerf gun or something.

Michael as Malcolm Reynolds from Firefly, holding on to Kaeso's helmet while he and Dick do their nerf kata spar. The helmet kinda blocked most of the distinctive details, though, so it's not immediately apparent that he's supposed to be Mal.

Kaylee as H. P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu (or Kaythulhu, as she deems herself). Again, not technically sci fi. But putting on a green wetsuit and flippers, green cardboard wings, and a green plush squid atop her head and calling in the costume was just too Kaylee not to draw.
