An allicorn is the horn of a unicorn, a winged horse is called a unikiss of a unipeg. It's very pretty.

An alicorn is:
-Usually, the horn of a unicorn, or the material of which the horn is made.
-A modern, but incorrect usage of the word alicorn is to refer to a winged unicorn. A pterippus (also called a pegasus after the original winged horse Pegasus) who are given horns are a modern notion and have no mythological counterparts.
-The alicorn was thought to cure many diseases and have the ability to detect poisons. Many Phycisians would make "cures" and sell them.
-Many cups were made from "alicorn" for kings and given as a gift.

I've been trying to do a firebird with wings something like that -- feathers turning into flames -- for *years* now. It never works. And the mane! And the horn!

Wow! This is absolutely gorgeous! The knotwork detail in the mane is exquisite, and the wings are beautifully done. I almost feel like I'm seeing a Pegasus/unicorn aflame with light or something.

Beautiful display of line and form!
I love the intricate negative areas in the design, and the way that the whole image has a movement of it's own. The neck area reminds me of some of the work on Greek urns.
And of course, that crazy braided mane! Keep up the fine work!!
