Description
Commission:A modern version of the Japanese monster the "Kuchisake Onna" in an appropriate "AM I PRETTY NOW?!" pose, scythe at the ready.
Some facts!
The "split mouth woman" will appear on foggy nights, a scarf or a cold mask covering her mouth (in some version, she can just make her mouth look normal).
Even with her face slightly obscured she will appear to be a knock out and will ask, in a honey soft voice. "Am I pretty?". If you say "yes" she will reveal her elongated, hideous leering mouth and ask you again, harshly "HOW ABOUT NOW?!"
There are a few options available here.
1. Say "you look pretty normal" in a truthful voice. She will thank you and leave you alone. Few people have the presence of mind to do this, however.
2. Run as fast as you can, she will give you a head start. She can, however, run at speeds of approximately 120kmph, and can track you by your scent, so best of luck!
3. Make sure your hair is combed with pomade. The scent of it makes her gag, even if she catches you, she will be immobilized by is odor. That said, she'll remember you so you'd best keep using that pomade, even after you escape.
4. Drop some of her favorite food. She will forget about chasing you! This has been everything from boiled sweets to melon bread. Lets hope you you happen to have whatever she likes!
IF CAUGHT.
Men: Prepare to get sliced to itty bitty pieces
Women: See above OR if you're really pretty and the kuchisake feels you deserve REAL suffering, she will slit your mouth, making you into the new Kuchisake, while she goes back to a nice normal life. You will be doomed to walk the night streets, performing your grisly duties.
Tips:
* She generally only attacks the adulterous or the excessively vain. Those who need to be taken down a peg.
* She is inhumanly strong, as well as fast.
* If youre under 15, all bets are off. She will approach you even if youre a good boy.
*Refusing to answer her first question will be seen as rude, and she will attack you anyway - best to play a long.
HOPE THIS HELPS

Only in yuri doujin I wrote while I lived in Japan.
It's not something people generally consider possible. It's a bit like beating death at chess. Sure, it could happen. But it never does.

Can I seduce her? What if that's my fetish?
But seriously... The Japanese have the most fun ghosts and mythology. They have this one that's an old dude who acts like an abandoned baby in the woods. When you pick him up he just keeps getting heavier and heavier until you drop him and then he makes fun of your feeble little arms.

Yeah that guy. Legend has it, that someone with pure enough intentions can indeed befriend the Kuchisake.

She'd be a pretty bad friend though. You can't really meet new people while hanging out with her... Maybe a Gaki would be nicer.

I remember reading up on her, because she was linked up to something on Snopes, I think. I checked up on a whole lot of ghosts of women wronged by men that day. Missy here is probably the most memorable one--no moping for her.

She doesn't mope for sure. She's hackin' and whackin and smackin'. Chopping that meat!
Best part? Sometimes she laughs while chasing people.

lol, there is a series of old Japanese films that have a ton of different Japanese ghosts in them.. i cant remember the name of them. but they've got the "long necked women," Kappa, umbrella ghost, lantern ghosts, ones that breath fire, etc i think in one film alone they had something along the lines of 30 different ghosts in it.

There was one maybe 3-4 years ago "Youkai Daisensou" (The great youkai war) that was pretty much a who's who (no kuchisake though). It was quite fun from memory. Also the long running t.v show "Ge Ge Ge no Kitaro" tends to tell a story about a different monster each week.

You can't, I guess. Maybe if you cut her head off, that'd work, but she's that fast, and that good with a blade (which is often at the end of an infinite chain btw) that no ones ever managed.
She has been injured, via burning and small cuts, but all heal within 24 hours.
Quite the pickle.

Yep. Seriously just practice saying "omae futsu dayo" (You're normal). Comb your hair with pomade, and carry a variety of sweet things (some like mangoes!)
Best advice: Keep your nose clean. Don't go cutting another man's lunch!

And she used scissors. Very "clocktower."
Also, weird "s" shaped cut.
What I LIKED though was the teeth being normal in the huge, leering mouth as opposed to the filed maw of legend. I found that more effectively freaky.

I think the first tip off point that you should keep on walking is the feudal-age weaponry she's carrying around. Or maybe the tiny purse she holds above her head at all times.

In some legends it is hidden in her clothes. Modern incarnations, much like the ones that can transform their face, produce the scythe out of nowhere, once you go through the "Am I pretty exchange" you are none the wiser till then.
To that end, the modern Kuchisake onna is hard to spot as Japanese girls ask you this question quite a lot.

A good old Straight Razor, Sweeney Todd style might make for a nice modernization of the scythe, ever thought of it?

Nice idea. Although, in Japan, those little sickles (kama) are actually REALLY easy to get. Got one myself at the 100 yen shop while I was there. It's still in common usage, as it turns out.

Oh yeah, i keep forgetting how ridiculously easy it can be to get a variety of melee weapons in Japan. Not that cutlery shops here in Brasil are all that better, i have seen some ludricous decorative blades worthy of fantasy conventions along with katanas, chinese swords and stuff.
That said her sickle doesn't look little at all...
