Aaaah, a look into the various pasts of our heroes.As luck would have it, I have also tracked down the private vox journal of Kerrun Makkia, where he speaks (with some bias) about his team mates and reflects self indulgently on his past.
The things mentioned in this journal relate slightly to adventures not yet seen here, so minor spoiler warning.

Gathering from what I've seen, and read, the twins are being implied as the Boone sisters, one became a psyker, and the other became an annoying and heretical cultist.

People can imply all they like, t'aint the case. If everything people implied or decided they wanted to believe was true, with all theories and relationships then commissar Raege would be too busy screwing Boone, Cuddles, Fuklaw, Kasrkin-chan and the Lady Inquisitor to actually be a commissar.
