Forcing back her raging hunger with every ounce of her willpower, Angela closed her eyes and held out her wings. She beat them faster and faster until she felt her feet leaving the floor. She could feel her whole body compressing, like she'd sucked in her stomach but somehow just kept going. She felt an itching sensation as tiny hairs covered every diminished inch of her body. When she opened her eyes, she found herself hovering over the floor, still flapping her wings at a frantic pace. Scraggly black hair trailed down her back as a mocking reminder of her former self.

She understood why she never saw her vampire friend, Winifred Pale, change completely into a bat. This form felt so small and vulnerable. But her reduced size had seemingly quieted her thirst for blood for the time being. Angela mentally plotted a flight path to Pale Manor. Hopefully, Winifred could help her somehow. Her one consolation in regards to her current body was that at least she wouldn't have to walk.
