The completed render of my Martian Handling Machine, I made the shape of the hood a week or 2 ago, the rest was modelled in 3 days. I'm quite proud of it, not 100% happy yet, but I'll tweek some more. I'll upload a bigger render later

I've never liked the Handling Machine design used in the Jeff Wayne album art. It's too clunky and doesn't even look like the description in the book. For a start, the book canon HM had dozens of manipulators that were like the cable-tentacles used by the Fighting Machine rather than a fixed bar-and-piston mechanical claw.
The design used in the album (and you are reproducing here fairly faitfully) was good enough but it fails to match Wells' vision of a pseudo-organic somewhat polymorphic metallic limb.
