Thalassic Woodcrafter (Otodactylus Thalassicus)

Called Crafter, because they have the most manipulatory appendages of any Sophont on serina (ear arms and hand with primitive thumbs to craft things, they are very dexterous compared to thalassic gravediggers).

Sapience Level: Fully Sapient

Language: Sea steward Language, but most also know Titan language.

Range: They live on islands and at the coasts of the mainland, and on floating ocean villages. They are rare further inland, because seaweeds does not grow there, and are usually only found near rivers or lakes, where seaweed does grow. They are almost absent in the mainland away from the coast because there is no food and too many wild animals to live there conveniently.

Life expectancy: Probably 60 to 70 years

Diet: primarily herbivorous, they can also eat meat if necessary, their stomachs are stronger than that of their ancestors. Nutrient poor Food and grass cannot sustain them, because their digestive system cannot digest grass.

History: they descend from the Forrest Woodcrafters, which went to the seashore , when the forest refugia died, and successfully adapted to sea life.

In contrast to the original timeline they went to the seashore in time and managed to bear offspring an survive.

Azuretailed Chatterraven (Excultocogitator glaucus) (light blue-green Cultivated Thinker)

Called Messenger, because they can fly and deliver messages quickly.

Range: They live on islands and at the coasts of the mainland, and on floating ocean villages.

They are also found further inland on islands. They are almost absent inside the mainland because of the Bluetailed Chatterravens, which attack them on sight.

Diet: Omnivorous to carnivorous, they eat mostly meat, but also eat seeds, fruits and plant matter.

History: They gradually branched off from the Ancestor of the Bluetailed Chatteravens (the white margined chatterer) between 5 and 3 Million years ago, they were used as messengers by the sea steward and the mutation for full sapience emerged roughly two million years ago, because the sea stewards selected for Chatteravens that could relay longer messages, and the mutation became commonplace, therefore they all became fully sapient. They are protected from Predators by the Aukvultures.

The Azuretailed Chatterraven is descended from the white margined chatterer, and lives together with the sea stewards. Until 266 Million Years PE hybridization with the ancestors of the Bluetailed Chatterraven happened in both directions (Azuretails also flying away to breed with bluetails), and at least until 268 million years it occurred in one direction, with bluetailed chatteravens interbreeding with azuretailed chatteravens. At some time Gene flow between the two species stopped, likely because the Azuretailed Chatteravens became sapient and would no longer interbreed with Bluetails. Bluetails became increasingly aggressive and bold and intolerant of aberrant feather colour patterns, and Azuretails were more gentle.

Azuretails gained sapience the same way Brighteye later would, it was a genetic throwback, the genes which made the Forkatiled Babbling Jay sapient came together again. This was heavily favoured because the Azuretails were used as Messengers and would transmit informations (mainly verbal ones, but sometimes also written ones) and had to remember many locations and how to reach them, so higher intelligence was very useful.

Azuretailed chatterravens have evolved slightly lobed feet, similar to a grebe, but not to such an extreme as that would impair their dexterity. They are also slightly smaller than Bluetails and more slender since competition for food and survival was less intense for them.

In the original Timeline they never came to because the sea stewards never tamed them.

Called Savage Messengers, because they look similar to Messengers and are Savage. And they are the messengers of predatory Beasts.

Called Ice Diggers, because they look similar to “normal” Diggers and they originally live on sea Ice.

Language: Mainly Ice Digger Language, a simple language. Many, but not all of them can also speak Sea Steward Language.

Range: They live everywhere on the northern Ice ledge, and in some villages on the Ice Coasts, the also live on some northern islands, but since the made contact only a few thousands of years ago and are not very inclined to explore new things they haven’t spread far from their home yet. They don’t live on the mainland, because there are Predators there, the savage Gravediggers. A few of them live in cities or villages on the coast of the mainland. They will likely spread to more of the mainland coast, ocean and islands in the future if nothing happens to them…

Sapience Level: Non Sapient but smart, with the exception of two siblings, Rachael and Rhea are fully Sapient

Language: No proper language, they only have honking calls which they use to convey simple meanings such as waring the Azuretails form danger or to communicate with conspecifics. The also use some dancing gestures to communicate on the ground.

Rachael and Rhea speak Sea steward Language, and also know Titan language, they are also capable of learning more languages.

Range: At the sea near Islands, on islands and the coast of the mainland. They usually roost on cliffs at the seashore

Range: They live on the mainland, and further inland than the Thalassic Gravediggers, Thalassic Woodcrafters and Azuretailed Chatterravens, because they barely have predators and they can eat nutrient poor food. They also live on several islands. They are completely absent on the floating ocean villages, because they are very large.

Size: Around 6 to 8 feet, ten feet are possible (smaller than in cannon)

Weight: less than a ton, but 800 kg is not rare.(lighter than in cannon)

Life expectancy: Probably at least 100 years?

Diet: omnivorous (they likely eat some meat too), they can eat almost any plant including grass. They cannot eat cactaiga bushes because they are too thorny.
