A sigh escaped your lips as your eyes traveled around the bar, Halloween decorations were scattered across the walls and ceiling, giving the bar the spirit of Halloween. Halloween wasn't really your type of holiday, but there was nothing you could do about it. You preferred Christmas or New Year's; brighter holidays, nothing dark, gory, or grotesque. Another reason why you didn't like Halloween was because Yuffie forced you to dress up each year, and this year, your costume was an angel; the large, white feathery wings, white robe, and sparkly, golden halo headband and all.

The bar maid, Tifa, was dressed as a witch; she wore a black dress with a tall black witch hat to top off her attire. She smiled as she walked over to you. "Anything I can get you?"

A fake smirk crossed your features, "Sure, anything special?"

A thoughtful mask replaced her features as she rattled off the list of specials.

"Well, we have witch's brew, vampire's kiss, graveyard, howlin' wolf, gremlin, and the pumpkin pie...and...that’s it. Anything sound appealing?”

Your eyes narrowed as you sifted through which one appealed to you most. "Hmmm...how about...the witch’s brew?"

A warm smile lit her face. "Coming' right up!" She hollered, assembling the beverage.

Your eyes looked at the door as more customers filed in, some dressed as ghosts, ghouls, monsters, and pretty much anything you would find on Halloween. There was someone you were waiting for, he texted you saying that he'd be there any minute. So far, he hadn't showed up, it made you nervous and slightly irritated.

This person you were waiting for was none other than Reno, your closest friend. You two have both been friends for at least three years now. You both met at the bar and…things went from there.

A red-headed Turk walked into the bar, his blue eyes wandering around the bar until they landed on you. A devilish smirk crossed his features as he sauntered over to you. He casually sat on the bar stool next to you, that devilish smirk still playing on his lips.

"Well, you look nice tonight, babe," He complimented in a seductive tone, examining you up and down, his eyes lingering for a particularly long time at your chest.

Your cheeks reddened and irritation flashed through your body as your eyes narrowed in utter annoyance. You weren't the kind of person who took being stared at in a certain area very well. In fact, you thought of it as rude.

"Gee, get a good image enough there, Reno?"

His blue eyes looked up and a sheepish smile plastered itself onto his face. He awkwardly scratched the back of his head. "Hehe, y-yeah. Ahem, so, how've you been?" It was SO obvious how he wanted to change the subject.

Feeling rather bored, your casual answer was, "Fine, same old same old. You? Betcha Rufus has you runnin' around with Rude, right?" A mix between a teasing smile and an amused smirk lit your face.

Reno chuckled, "Yeah, you got that right. Came here to take a break. Hey, since you're here..." A mischievous look lit his face as he proceeded, "why don't we...have a little competition? Eh, what do you say?"

Your eyes looked away from him as you stared at the ground.

Well, you were always up for a contest, so heck, why not? But wait, this was Reno we were talking about here. ANYTHING can fly with him! He was your friend though, so what would be the harm?

After a moment, your gaze locked with his, an evil smirk sliding across your face.

"Sure, why not? What is this...little competition that you had in mind, mister?" Your tone sounded unmistakably competitive. It was in your nature to be competitive.

That signature mischievous look was way more than evident now. "This little competition is to see who will get drunk first, but if you pass out, you lose. Eh?" His elbow touched yours, egging you on.

An evil chuckle escaped, "Hell, why not? Let's do it!"

Reno smiled triumphantly, turning to Tifa. "Hey, Tifa, get us some shots!"

Tifa looked from him to you, sighing; a hint of a smile lit up her features.

She gave each of you a shot. You grabbed your glass and he did the same, that evil grin glued to his face.

He held it up, "Cheers!" His glass clinked against yours.

"Cheers!" You exclaimed as you downed the first one.

That shot was so strong, your first reaction was to cough and wince. "Man, that stuff is strong!"

Reno smirked at you, “Yeah, I know. That’s why I chose it.” That sly smirk of his spread even more across his face.

Tifa handed you another round. You downed yours, determined to beat the veteran drinker. Reno took his down like a pro.

The after-effect wasn’t as strong as the last one, but still it caused you to cough.

Round after round, you downed yours. You were up to at least round number twelve when Reno passed out, falling promptly off his bar stool and landing on the bar floor with a thud.

A drunk, triumphant smile crossed your face as you drunkenly stared at the passed-out Turk. You won! But tomorrow, you were going to have one hell of a hangover, but what really mattered was that you beat the veteran.

You woke up with the worst hangover ever.

A groan escaped from you as you tried to recall the night before, and it hit you like a sack of bricks. A grin spread across your face as you remembered that you beat Reno at a drinking contest.

Later that night, you walked to the bar and saw Reno sitting on a bar stool with a shot glass. An evil and smug look spread across your face as you approached him, sitting beside him.

He looked at you, confused, “Why the smug look?”

You smiled, “I won.”

The look on his face was priceless.
