Description
After a long hiatus, I'm finally submitting work again! This painting is a year old now, and it was my first ever painting in color. It was completed using the sight-size method of a plaster cast at the Angel Academy of Art, and I loved painting the fabric that's wrapped around her waist. She reminded me a little bit of a mermaid, hence the title.The Siren Turned to Stone

The whole painting is absolutely lovely, but I have to say that fabric is just... amazing! It's an interesting contrast against the smooth upper body and the undulating folds below, and I really enjoy it ^_^

Thank you very much for saying so! To tell the truth, I spent much more time on the fabric than on the statue, and I think the difference between the two is pretty noticeable...
