Welcome back, readers! *flails arms for seemingly no reason* I took waaaayyyy too long to finish the second half of this. But you know, school, projects, etc. Also: as the episodes get worse, the reviews get longer. Hope you enjoyed reading me complain about the first ten episodes in this list, and you must have because you're back to read more!

10. Yours, Mine, and Mine
I hate this episode so much. I love Pat, but in the new episodes, they've changed him from nice and stupid to a jerk and stupid, and a liar, and a brute. He mooches off of Spongebob, takes his money, agrees to share the food and toy and then doesn't. This is one of the worst cases of character distortion I have seen in the new Spongebob, which is the reason I do not like this episode one bit.

9. Kracked Krabs
A sister episode to “Yours, Mine, and Mine”, in this episode, Mr. Krabs, who used to be a father figure, actually teaches Spongebob to steal and be greedy! I dislike this episode for the ending: Mr. Krabs stole his entire hotel room, and it won him the “Cheapest Crab Award.” Really? Teaching kids to steal? That's an awful moral.

8. Squid's Visit
Talk about creepy. Spongebob completely replicated Squid's house? That is definitely wrong! Stalkers are bad, Spongebob is supposed to be the main protagonist, not the antagonist! And when Squidward was scared for his own safety, he still looked for the vacuum. Not your best move, Squid. And again with the new Spongebob acting perfect and innocent by “offering” him something, even though the problem is his fault!

7. Cephalopod Lodge
This is one of the worst cases of Squidward abuse. If you've seen it, you're going to hate it, unless you hate Squiddy. There's no in between. Side Squid, or Side Sponge. Although, maybe Squid shouldn't have been there (keeping in mind, Sponge and Pat had no right to STALK him) because it seemed very much like a cult to me. Anyway, I just dislike this episode a whole lot.

6. Stuck In The Wringer
A rare case of post-movie Spongebob abuse. I mean, Patrick is an idiot. In this episode, he's a complete #ss!!! He deliberately puts “Forever Glue” on Spongebob, who was trying to get out of the wringer!!! Now, listen to this piece of conversation following when Spongebob couldn't work because of the wringer:

SpongeBob: Here, Mr. Krabs. I'll help.
Mr. Krabs: [shouts] Help?! I think you've helped quite enough today. [shows destroyed restaurant] And don't even think about coming back here until that destructive device of yours is gone. [throws SpongeBob out of the Krusty Krab]

The Krusty patrons didn't care how Mr. Krabs (Who, by the way, in the old episodes, would have been considerate of Spongebob's feelings when he sent him home) treated Sponge. Now, after Patrick was still being completely rude to Sponge, the yellow guy lost it and blew up at him at the carnival:

SpongeBob: If it wasn't for your Forever Glue, I wouldn't be stuck in this thing.
Patrick: I was only trying to help.
SpongeBob: [shouts] Help?! I think you've helped quite enough today. [This is the exact same thing Mr. Krabs said earlier]
Patrick: Okay, if that's how you feel... I won't help you anymore! [runs off sobbing. the crowd looks angrily at SpongeBob]
SpongeBob: Heh, heh, a lot of drama with that one.
Sandals: Ya know, kid, your body isn't the problem. It's your heart. [heart groaning] You deserve what you've gotten. C'mon, we're out of here. [crowd grumbling, murmuring] Some people are just born mean.

Seriously!? Exact same thing that Mr. Krabs said, but no one cared then!!! I mean, I bad mouth New Episode Spongebob a lot in this list, but I think Patrick deserves something to happen to him. This episode could have some redeeming qualities, such as the moment when Pat is arguing with his thought bubble. That part was funny. But, the end is what makes this completely awful. Spongebob literally says; “I guess crying really does solve you problems after all.” Non sarcastically!!! Neither of them take anything to heart from what could have been an interesting plot line and a serious lesson. I absolutely hate this episode, but that's nothing compared to what is to come later, after this.

5. The Cent of Money
Excuse me while I kill Paul Tibbitt(show runner post-movie, after Stephen Hillenburg left). Animal abuse was not a good move. Listen: lessons about friendship in a kids show: good. Lessons about animal abuse: tricky waters. I mean, poor Gary! And this episode almost hurts because of what they turned Mr. Krabs into: a money obsessed, fat, angry, animal abuser! He used to be one of my favorite characters, back when money was a priority, but so was Pearl. [and the well being of snails who swallowed magnets, I might add] And, this could just be me, but the part where he dressed up as a pregnant woman was really weird, right? I don't know. All I know is that I hate this episode. Moving on.

4. A Pal For Gary
Oh, where do I even begin!? This was such an awful episode, even the way Spongebob said Enchiladas was annoying! How could they do this to the sweet little sponge, who used to run a bubble stand and flip burgers and only annoy Squid when he didn't realize he was doing it!? And at the end, he didn't even get his comeuppance! Poor Gary! Go live with Pat. OH WAIT! He's a selfish, overweight, gigantic #ss now! I know he didn't have a part in this episode but ugh! I want to complain so much about this episode! I spit on the writers of this episode, I spit on them.

3. Face Freeze
Ew....I am marking this one down as one of the worst 5 because of what I think the writers were doing. But I'll get to that. The faces were horrid, as a lot of faces are in new episodes, and I think it is disappointing that Spongebob of all Nick shows would do this kind of thing. What I think the writers were doing is testing the animators and artists on how much gross-out they could draw. I mean, really! I can see no other reason for making such a stupid episode, unless they have coral wedged in their frontal lobe. (Reference to Season 3) A few people have told me they found it funny, I'm not saying you can't have your opinions, I'm just saying that this is mine.

2. Are You Happy Now?
Somebody slap the writers. Then kick them where it really hurts. Suicide jokes, direct representation of Spongebob being a narcissist and being obsessed with Squiddy, if anyone likes this episode, you can go watch Adult Swim. And then slap yourself, because that is awful. I can understand depression, although they really played it awful. I can understand Spongebob trying to help. But suicide jokes, where Squid puts his head in the oven, then pulls brownies out, or says; “Maybe this will help.” and swinging a noose over, then pulling it up to reveal a scallop pet, those are awful, sick, disgusting, and flat-out wrong.

And about the narcissism, at the end, Spongebob makes a thousand paper mache copies of himself, claiming it will make Squid feel better to have a party of his favorite person. Spongebob may have been confused in the old episodes about Squidward disliking him, but at least he wasn't so flat-out ignorant and conceited. And then they have Squidward pull a chainsaw out and begin slicing the bodies of Spongebob, laughing like a crazy person and screaming; “I feel wonderful!” An episode should not have a main character [Spongebob] looking on in pleasure as another rips open his head. Also, the last line, spoken by Spongebob; “Ah...He's so handsome.”

Forget that creator Stephen Hillenburg already stated; “We never intended [Spongebob] to be gay,” that is not the kind of thing you say when your friend is smiling at the thought of ripping your little yellow body apart and leaping around like some kind of Wacky Wall Walker, whether or not he is as handsome as freaking Johnny Depp!

“Are You Happy Now” is the episode that made me want to watch when Stephen Hillenburg saw Paul Tibbitt again to start make the Spongebob Movie 2. He probably wanted to slap him.

What episode could possibly be worse? What episode could make you cringe and hate the show so much? Before I review that episode, here are the runners up that almost made the cut in top 20 worst Spongebob episodes.

2. Are You Happy Now?

What episode could possibly be worse than Are You Happy Now? What could be worse than a child's cartoon with suicide jokes in it? What episode could be worse than one where the Wiki page actually states that it is considered one of the most disturbing episodes of all time?

How about one where someone actually directly attempts suicide?

1. One Coarse Meal
I wanted to cry when I first watched this. If you're a fan of Mr. Krabs who hasn't seen this episode, you will be devastated. When he finds out Plankton is afraid of whales(which doesn't make sense, he was fine being near Pearl in The Algae's Always Greener, an amazingly funny and interesting episode), Mr. Krabs stalks him, surprising him around corners and chasing him, dressed as a whale. You jerk. Mr. Krabs is no longer an #ss. He is #ss. He is the definition of it. He does this to the point that Plankton gets nightmares, and does the thing where many fans stopped watching the show.

He attempts suicide. Not like in Are You Happy Now?, where it was a sick and cruel joke, no. He lay out in the road and said while crying;

“What's the point of going on? I'll just be tortured for the rest of my life by that whale! [lies down] That's it. I'm done. The 4: 15 bus should be here any minute, now.”

I want to scream in anger! What did they expect? That people like me, or Blu3Danny, who wrote another list for worst Spongebob episodes including One Coarse Meal, or people who have lost someone who committed suicide, bless their souls, would take this episode with a light heart? Paul Tibbitt, I'm going to flat out say it, how dare you let this happen under your watch? Writers, how dare you even think about putting this in a kids show? And Nickelodeon, you should have dropped Spongebob six episodes ago when an episode that made the list, A Pal for Gary, was released. Suicide is a serious issue, not something for comic relief for a cartoon.

The end was something awful, too. Spongebob, worried sick about Plankton, told Mr. Krabs it was going too far to dress up and terrify Plankton [Good for you, Sponge] He responded with a comment about Spongebob disclosing the location of the secret formula, and Spongebob said; “I'll fix this.”

He told the little green guy about Mr. Krabs' fear of mimes. So Plankton scared him back, trapping him and forcing him to watch a mime, but it turns out Spongebob was just planning to torture Plankton even more by displaying a picture of a pod of hungry whales on the glass of the Krusty Krab. You lying, tricking, evil little #sshole! You are supposed to be the protagonist, not deliberately torturing someone right after seeing him trying to commit suicide! I hate you, I hate you so much.

What have the children learned from this episode: Suicide is a joke, and you should put keeping the secret of the formula above peoples lives, it's okay to be a stalker as long as it's really funny, and no matter what, your boss is right. Sick. Cruel, writers, cruel.

That concludes this rant. One more thing to share: I have a fear of what is to come in 2014 for the little square dude. The sequel. I am worried that they will bring the cruel jokes, the gross drawings, the insensitive puns, and the character distortion to the sequel of one of the greatest movies ever. Stephen Hillenburg, you're coming back. Fix this, please? I can't take anymore brute Patrick, stalker-crazy-conceited Spongebob, mildly conceited and severely abused Squid, plot-device Sandy [a rare opinion, but I think that's what they've turned her into] and please, I will cry, I will literally weep, if they take the cruel, greedy, fat, lazy, stealing, animal-abuser that Mr. Krabs has been turned into, and put him in the movie. Mr. Krabs used to be greedy, but the writers knew where to draw a line when it got too crazy. Now he basically is an insane person. Bring the old Eugene back!

I am raging way too much. Leave comments about your opinion, and check out some of my other work(there isn't much right now, but maybe when you're reading this) Thank you for reading.

Kracked Krabs was hilarious. How the heck is the stealing part of a moral?
Was "Chocolate With Nuts" teaching kids to lie.

Mostly agree with the rest of the list though

I can't say I've seen any of these episodes. I grew up on Spongebob and used to recognize all the episodes when they came on but after me and my dad moved in with my grandmother (in 2006) the TV was old and I don't think it had Nickelodeon even as a channel. In any case, I kinda stopped watching Nick after that.

I've heard a lot of shit about the new Spongebob though, but I didn't know it was that bad. I told some of my friends that I liked Spongebob and used to watch it all the time, and they looked at me weird. Then I had to explain that it was all the episodes from 10 years ago because apparently the new one gets a lot of hate... lol...

Ugh, I hated 'One Course Meal' Why would they even put suicide on a CHILDREN'S show?! That's so terrible, are they trying to teach kids that suicide is just some joke? Ugh... people these days.

One Coarse Meal is the PINNACLE of bad Spongebob Episodes. It is THE worst episode of Spongebob EVER. Period. Hell, I personally thought that Cephalopod Lodge was the worst until The Mysterious Mr Enter opened up my eyes to the truth. Is Cephalopod Lodge still awful? OF COURSE. But One Coarse Meal? It is blatent proof that the new writers need to be BLACKLISTED. Zeus Cervas and Casey Alexander need to FIRED. Stephen Hillenburg himself HATED this episode. The man who MADE the gosh darn show DESPISED One Coarse Meal! And it isn't the fact these people wrote the episode, what people keep missing is the fact Nick GREEN LIGHTED this episode! What is WRONG with these people? This is why Cartoon Network and The Hub are winning. Nick, Disney XD and Disney Channel are so far down the toliet they're stuck in a deep ravine inside a sewer system.

Time to continue telling my thoughts on these episodes!

#10. Yours, Mine and Mine:
How this episode evaded either of MoBros’ lists is beyond me! It really deserved to be on one of them.

This episode was just awful. This episode tried to go for the message that “sharing is caring”, but it fails (miserably) to do so. This episode made one of my favorite characters look like a complete jerk (yes, Patrick is one of my favorites). If it had ended with Patrick learning that it’s good to share (especially with your friends and family), then this episode wouldn’t have been so bad.

And his “Have you learned nothing about sharing?” line just made me want to beat him up! He’s more unlikeable than he was in episodes like The Card or Smooth Jazz in Bikini Bottom! This is one of the few times I actually disliked Patrick (the other time being in I’m With Stupid, my LEAST favorite Pre-Movie episode  ).

#9. Kracked Krabs: You may be surprised to hear this, but I actually didn’t mind this episode. I understand that the ending was a bit irresponsible to celebrate stealing, but I actually kind of thought it was funny how Spongebob defined “exaggerating”.

It actually felt like Spongebob was thinking back to the episode “Chocolate With Nuts” because if you remember, SB and Patrick were basically lying (or “exaggerating the truth”) to get money for selling those chocolate bars. I do respect your opinion though and I can see why you’d put it on this list. I just thought Kracked Krabs wasn’t too bad of an episode.

#8. Squid’s Visit: I... thought Squid's Visit was decent! I actually liked that the writers used an eerie atmosphere to make this episode. Honestly, I can't see why people hate it so much. I mean, they hate it because it's creepy. Okay I can see that. But seriously, I don't know how people can keep saying how the creepiness in Squid's Visit is out of place for ANY kids' show, but with almost half the episodes of Ren And Stimpy, they're willing to let the creepiness slide. I mean, I thought half the scenes in Ren And Stimpy were more nightmare inducing than what this episode had to offer (look at Sven Hoek and Hermit Ren, among others...)! I respect people's opinions but, I actually appreciate the writers for using a somewhat darker atmosphere (as long as it's done right or doesn't go too far (like One Coarse Meal)). And Squidward's insanity trip at the end was kind of creepy, too!

Best Moment:
SpongeBob: Aw, don't worry. You're more than welcome to stay at my home until you get your house fixed. [Squidward becomes shocked with ominous music playing, he suddenly disappears to him at a table with his vacuum cleaner at the seat across from him].
Squidward: Why, yes, I'd love another spot of tea, Mr. Vacuum Cleaner. [holds up the burnt casserole] Care for some casserole?? [crazed laughter. Camera zooms in on his pupil]

Everyone knows the best part of a dark episode is always the creepiest!

25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lam…

Call me twisted, but this is just my opinion.

#7. Cephalopod Lodge: I watched CL again, and I have to say, my opinion has changed for it. It’s actually not that bad. Okay, I still take away points for Squid Abuse (poor Squidward ), but the episode did have some jokes that left me chuckling throughout the episode, and at least Spongebob and Patrick felt bad for what they did and tried to get him back in, even if it failed. Also, this may seem like the worst Squidward Torture Porn, but at least Squidward’s chances of meeting his idol don’t get ruined the day he goes to a concert. Oh wait… spongebob.wikia.com/wiki/Smoot…

#6. Stuck In The Wringer: (Yay, we rank this episode in the same place!) This episode, at its core, is basically a Spongebob torture porn. Many people seem so focused on Squid abuse that they completely forget what Spongebob goes through as well. But in reality, Spongebob really has just as many, if not more, torture episodes than Squidward himself. Don’t believe me? Look at Born Again Krabs, Dumped, Gone, THIS episode, Rock-A-Bye Bivalve, InSPONGEiac, I’m With Stupid, The Splinter, Yours Mine and Mine, Spongebob You’re Fired, and Whatever Happened to Spongebob are PERFECT examples of this. Heck, Spongebob is even shared the “honor” of being abused in The Plays The Thing! If people are sympathetic towards Squidward, how come they aren’t just as sympathetic towards Spongebob? If anything, he’s actually much sweeter and nicer than Squidward, considering Can You Spare A Dime, Valentine’s Day, Texas, Band Geeks, Enchanted Tiki Dreams, Plankton’s Pet, Big Pink Loser, etc. Not only that, but we have the appearance of even more jerky Bikini Bottomites, followed by the ridiculous, rancid moral to go along with it. I’m glad it’s on the list.

#5. The Cent of Money: I used to hate it, but now I actually like this episode quite a bit! I’ve come to appreciate it much more than I had before. While I still hate the Gary torture in this episode, I was glad to see that Mr. Krabs FINALLY gets his comeuppance in the end. Also, I love how Spongebob cared for Gary in this one and actually stood up to his boss. That was cool!

#4. A Pal For Gary: My reaction to this episode:  A Pal For Gary Title Card BY FIRE BE PURGED!!!

#3. Face Freeze!: Personally, I find this episode to be pretty underrated. A lot of people really hate the freaky faces mainly, because they're freaky and scary. But in my opinion, I found most of these face funny! Seriously! I didn't laugh at them like I would at a joke. I mainly laughed at the What the Heck aspect of them. Although some of the faces are disturbing, a lot of them are so weird, wacky and silly that it's hard for me not to chuckle! I'll admit, it is kind of a bummer that the faces are really the only crutches this episode has (despite them being silly and creative), and I disliked the ending, but personally, I find this episode to be pretty decent. I mean, okay, it IS fairly weak, but I personally like the episode anyways, mainly for its silliness and weirdness. (plus, I think being silly and weird is this episode's main purpose) If you do hate it, that’s fine. But I personally find it to be pretty amusing.

#2. Are You Happy Now?: This episode is actually debatable for me, whether I should hate it or appreciate it. (hey, that rhymes!) On one side, I get upset watching Squidward depressed for 6-7 minutes, followed by an incredibly messed up ending that could most likely pass off for an R-rated horror movie. Though, on the flip side, Spongebob seems to really care about Squidward and show a lot of concern and worry for him (“at least we know he’s still alive”). And I’m glad that Spongebob actually tried to get Squidward a happiest memory, even at the end (despite the complete obliviousness and narcissism).

Also, I’d like to ask, what’s wrong with implementing dark humor into a kids show? Okay, maybe the suicide jokes here aren’t the best way to make you laugh, but at least they are trying to be funny like in the first 3-4 seasons. The reason I say this is because, I’m surprised at how hypocritical some people can be. I mean, Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy 4 had a suicide joke in it, yet almost nobody makes a big deal out of it. Band Geeks made a suicide joke, yet almost nobody made a big deal out of that! Yet, when we have this episode, many people consider this the worst episode of the series, solely for two stupid jokes! I’m not trying to attack you (or anybody for that matter), but I’m getting a little bothered by the hypocrisy of some people.

Heck, if you think this is the most offensive thing the writers have done, take a good look at Gary Takes A Bath and The Great Snail Race. The Great Snail Race has a disgusting scene where Gary starts to explode and crash into a wall, which is supposed to parody REAL LIFE CAR CRASHES AND THE PEOPLE WHO LIKE TO WATCH THEM, hence the audience cheering at the end, which honestly makes me sick. Yet almost no one rants about that. Gary Takes a Bath has a scene where Spongebob tells Gary not to DROP THE SOAP, a PRISON RAPE JOKE! Yet, almost nobody rant about that. Yet, when Squidward hangs a rope and puts his head in the oven, only to hang up a cage and take out some brownies, THAT’S when people make a fuss about it? How? I mean, creating two lame jokes pertaining to suicide? NO, that’s worthy of death! Making fun of other tragedies such as race-car crashes and rape? That’s perfectly okay!

www.youtube.com/watch?v=7a7sVt…

I’m sorry, but I had to get that off my chest. I’m sorry if I may have offended anyone from this rant, but I’m just surprised, shocked even, that some people deem this the worst episode ever because of two stupid jokes, yet they find the jokes in the other two episodes funny! Like I said, I don’t find the suicide jokes here funny, but personally, they aren’t nearly as bad as Gary Takes A Bath and The Great Snail Race when it comes to offensive jokes. Personally, I think the writers should get slapped for the rape and car crash jokes more than the jokes here. Again, I don’t find this episode really good, but it’s certainly not as bad as many people deem it to be, but that’s just my opinion.

#1. One Coarse Meal:
Since I’ve ranted about this episode quite a few times, I’ll make this a bit brief. Well, let’s get the positive things here:

The beginning was actually kind of entertaining and fun to watch, at least until Pearl showed up.

One of the funniest moments in Spongebob history: Mr. Krabs’ Wacky Bucks! Too bad it was wasted on such a horrible episode.

Plankton’s nightmare sequence. Although I felt horrible for Plankton, for some reason I the creepy nightmare sequence, mainly for the eerie atmosphere and dark animation.

Oh yeah, and Karen’s line: “So, my triumphant husband returns. How’d you fail this time?” Too bad this was also wasted on such a horrible episode.

This is one of my least favorite episodes of the entire series, and it’s pretty obvious why! This episode is confusing, mean-spirited, horribly abusive, sadistic, and has sympathetic characters (namely Mr. Krabs) destroyed. Mr. Krabs LAUGHING at Plankton’s suicide attempt? Really? That’s just utterly cruel. It’s actually kind of sad when you realize that they were friends once. Mr. Krabs’ intentions were so sadistic and cruel, that I can’t see how we’re supposed to side with him after this! After this episode, I cannot AND will not feel sorry for him at this point, because after that, I’ve just lost all respect for him.

What surprises me is how come this episode evaded BOTH of MoBros’ countdowns? I mean, I respect opinions but, how come good episodes like Wigstruck, Squidward in Clarinetland, Greasy Buffoons, and Truth Or Square (I refuse to think of it as Number #1) get bashed, yet genuine horrors like Gone, Are You Happy Now?, and One Coarse Meal get off scot free? I’m actually kind of shocked to see it nowhere on some people’s worst episode list! I respect opinions but, I think it deserves a place in the bottom 20. I’m actually surprised that some people find episodes like Pet or Pests or Dear Vikings worse than this! Sure, they’re both bad, but they’re not “Oh my god I wanna blow up the TV” bad! That one was just… mediocre. Whereas THIS episode is cruel, horrible, and disgusting.

Overall, I thought this was a good list you made, and while there are some disagreeable choices (Planet of the Jellyfish, Kracked Krabs, and The Cent of Money), I can understand why you dislike them so much.

I’ve actually made a second edition of my Worst Episodes countdown, if you want to see it.

I’ve even made a best episodes list! It’s not finished yet, but if you want to read it, here’s the first part!

I forgot about Gary takes a bath! that is one episode I really didn't like from the older episodes. Wish I had remembered it before.  But anyway, I can also see how someone would enjoy or at least not mind Planet of the Jellyfish and some others I put on here.

Yeah, I can see why you didn't like it. While I do like it, I hate that one scene mainly because one, rape jokes are NOT FUNNY, and two, why the heck would you want to say that, TO YOUR OWN PET??

Yeah, I found POTJ to be a pretty cool episode. If you don't like it, that's fine.

Like I said, you made a very cool list! I hope you will enjoy my Top 20!

It's not that I like it in particular, I just can see at least a couple of alright jokes in it that kept it off my list.
