Description
The ''Sky Sweeper'' got its name from its pivotal role as a mobile SAM platform. Based on a hover chassis, the Sky Sweeper is able to lock an area down and keep a lookout for any enemy aircraft before needing to scoot to another area. As a result, the hover nature of the Sky Sweeper allows multiple areas to be clear of aircraft for some time.Many times, enemy pilots won't even go airborne knowing that these SAM platforms may be roaming about in their AO.

All such air defense is prone to missile attacks which home in using the defense units radar beacon. If they shut off the radar their are blind. If they have the radar on, it's like screaming "here I am", and the anti-ground missile basically can't miss.
I understand the pilots. But I don't want to be aboard of this unit either. These are the first which are taken out.

Yep, AGM missiles used against AAA positions primarily use reverse radar lock to target the units on the ground. Scary stuff if you're an AA crew member.
