Description
I was tasked with designing and modeling a new type of watercraft for each of the civs for Expanding Fronts , a mod for Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds. These Monitors are 'mini-Cruisers' that operate in an escort role to other sea units, protecting them from coastal defenders with their cannons. Tech 1 Monitors are represented on the bottom while Tech 2 are represented above.

For many of these, I took inspiration from existing vehicles in the Star Wars universe. The Imperial Monitor was based on the S-1 FireHawke. The Rebel Monitor was based on the AAC-1 Speeder Tank from Battlefront 2. Naboo's Monitor was based on the classic Flash Speeder. The Trade Federation Monitor was based on the Platoon Attack Craft seen throughout the prequels. The CIS Monitor is an actual design, the Ostracoda-class Gunboat, which I made a render of.

The project lead, Gen_Rhys_Dallows, did the texturing.

I designed and modeled all of these Monitors in Sketchup.
