Here it is, the formal render and presentation of the new X-wing. Like I said with my other X-wing uploads, I absolutely love the new design and can't wait to see it in the film. Β Eh, the design is okay, but I still find it strange how the the wings split apart. The fore wings seem so short from fore to aft! But I am biased towards the XJ Series!

If by Throne you mean Thrawn, then yeah. But Thrawn might not even be in the new movie since all EU is non-canon.

The film itself is going to be canon obviously; I meant that since Disney acquired Star Wars, anything relating to the EU is now non-canon, thus elements such as Thrawn or theΒ Yuuzhan Vong don't 'exist' in the current continuity.

I don't know, the wings feel a little small compared to the original, and the engines feel more like the Z-95. I think I prefer the original, still great model and really looking forward to the new movie.

Yeah, the wings do feel small, though they are small so that they can "combine" into 1 wing when not in attack position. The first thing I thought when I saw the new X-wing was that it was the Z-95 or a variant of it. Who knows, maybe there will be an X-wing variant with larger wings!

Yeah I can understand the idea behind it, still if I was designing her, I would have had both wings the same size as there is a lot of strain put on that bottom wing being so thin.Β
The engines aren't that bad really, I mean perhaps they found the z-95 performed better and so the T-65 successor went back to the Z-95 engines for performance reasons.Β
