Ugh my classmates are always asking me , " Is that a dude or a chick? "
Do they not see breasts and eyelashes?

I really hate it whn you draw a cat and they ask if it's a mouse.
Always upsets me.
Anyway, lovely piece, just shows how misunderstood we all are haha!

It's the same with writing.
Read aloud a short story to my classmates once, one of the biggest mistake of my life.
xD

I'm fairly certain I reached my peak years ago and my drawing skills have only gone downhill
But, hey, I may surprise myself.

this is exactly my life
the most common question i get is "how long does it take you to do that?"

MumblingIdiot In reply to mrdynamite [2009-08-05 22:41:46 +0000 UTC]
Heh, I don't usually get that one. I think people assume I just toss it off in a couple of minutes.

Situations like these make drawing on location SO much funsies!... Also, drawing made-up people and having someone ask "Who's that, then?".. or "is that a real person?"

MumblingIdiot In reply to Jasika [2009-07-31 10:38:34 +0000 UTC]
I've got to admit I do like the attention if someone gets nosey on location.
But whenever anyone does watch me drawing, I always seem to be doing terribly and it's just quite embarassing.

Yeah, having people talk to us isnt so bad, it's just when they stand there watching or, horror of horrors, decide to be HELPFUL ("that line there's a bit wonky", or "is it supposed to look like that?") which, yknow, IS acually helpful to a certain extent.

I KNOW! whenever i draw a random portrait, the first thing my family asks is "who's that?"

Jasika In reply to stickslnlstones [2009-08-01 20:25:53 +0000 UTC]
Yeah! Although I've started making up stories about fictional people I draw, just to confuse/placate their gullible little minds
The things we creatives have to endure...

I've turned around and poked someone in the eye the last time someone did that to me.
It was on purpose.

:S I can imagine.
I'm going to be wary from now on if I watch you draw.

lupinemagic [2009-07-30 20:48:20 +0000 UTC]
Its the whole 'did you draw that? Really? What, freehand?'
'No! i drew it with my f**king artisticly programmed cyber arm!...'
The goddamn pen in my hand kinda gives it away huh?
š: 0 ā©: 2
MumblingIdiot In reply to lupinemagic [2009-07-31 10:44:16 +0000 UTC]
Haha!
I never really get that since my drawings all look so cackhanded in their true forms.

Yeah i never quite mastered the concept of rough drawing, and doodling lol! Its either a finished piece or i dont bother
Probably why im crap at drawing from my mind but pretty good at drawing from reality.
