Thank you so much! ^_____^ The world they live in is harsh, so she has to be harsher, and hopefully the way I draw her reflects it. I'm having a lot of fun developing her character as the story goes on!

I'm from Russia and I want to say that this inscription is just a collection of letters without meaning. What did you really mean?

MurderousAutomaton In reply to ARTooNooREF [2018-01-28 18:42:03 +0000 UTC]
Hi, GeroVort! It’s actually English, using a font called "Cyberia", which swaps out English letters for Russian letters that look similar. It says “Better Red than dead”, a play on the American anti-Soviet propaganda of the Cold War era.

“Better Red than dead”
Hmm ... This phrase in Russian will look like this: "ЛУЧШЕ КРАСНЫЙ, ЧЕМ МЁРТВЫЙ" - so it will be correct.

Oh, cool! Thank you for the translation! Maybe I'll do two versions. I'm planning on selling this as a print at shows, so I'll keep it in English for that, since my fanbase is mostly American and I want them to be able to read it. ^____^

Is this a character from the new Metro game coming out?! She seems perfect to be in that universe.

Oh man those creatures are absolutely gruesome. I'd pay to see Red go against a Demon or maybe some Spiderbugs. I'll let you decide, here's a link on 'em:

Wow, those ARE gruesome! They'd definitely be a handful for Red, but I think she'd enjoy the challenge.

I bet she could handle them. Especially if the lettering in her name applies to anything since they reside in nuclear remnants of Russia in the game.

Ha, ha! Nice! Well, she's not really Russian herself, but a lot of the imagery I use for the bad guys in the comic resembles Soviet Russia, to play off of the Cold War during the '80s. A lot of the pinup art I do for it has that Soviet feel to it, since it kind of permeates their world. But anyway, yeah! Whatever their nature, I think it'd be in her wheelhouse. In issue 2 of the comic, she takes on a giant Glow Worm, mutated from nuclear bomb testing.

Sounds like an interesting world where only tough fight like mad to survive. The Cold War is an aspect of this game as well. It's basically a what if the Cold War actually had dire consequences, where the superpowers at the time launched nukes at each other. The aftermath is just people trying to make it in the Inferno that is their world now. If she can take on a giant glow worm I'm pretty sure she can handle anyting that the Metro universe can offer.

Oh wow, that's a cool concept for the game! I might have to check that out! Ha, ha! That's true! Although worms have softer outsides than those critters do... but I guess Red's hard on the outside and inside.

It's a definite must if you enjoy survival shooters blending in an unique atmosphere. That captures the desperate situation that the people in this game live in. Some of the creatures are not very strong one bullet to the head can deal with most. It's certain ones that don't die from such a shot that make the game worth playing through. Red can take them on especially with Sky Fox's Luna's assistance.

Boy, that would be fun to see! Maybe they'll be in a game of their own one day! I'd definitely play that.

The creatures that I dreaded facing, literally, in the game were the Librarians. Things would only attack if you turned your back to them so they always surprised me. Even when you did see them you had to look into their eye without turning around. It was a mission that you could either have a stealth approach or running gun approach. Man if you decided to fight all them all I can say is good luck, damn things did not go down easy.
You'll be happy to know the artist I contacted about the commission is currently working on an image of them fighting off some creatures from the game. I'm very excited to see just how it will look in the end.

Man, those things sound crazy! That seems to be missing from a lot of modern games--putting enemies in the game that you're actually afraid to fight! A lot of games seem to overpower the player nowadays, but enemies that were truly intimidating made games really fun! It really felt like something was at stake.
Oh, cool! That's awesome! I can't wait to see it!

They are extremely terrifying whenever I played through that game multiple times, I wasn't too eager to go to their level. Yeah I agree games can be fun, but not many have enemy types that can make you lose your mettle. Dark Souls and Bloodborne are the only ones that I can think of, other than Metro 2033, that has horrifying enemies.
The image of Sky Fox Luna and Shortcake is done, let me know if you want the link for it and I'll send it over.

Wow, they sound pretty intimidating! I remember a lot of the enemies in the Silent Hill series were kinda like that. Most were just cannon fodder, but there were some that you'd rather just not have to deal with. I haven't played most of the Resident Evil games, but I heard the Regenerators (I think that's what they're called) were a giant pain. They'd just keep regenerating and wouldn't stay down!
Awesome! Yeah, I'd love to see it! Thanks!

I completely forgot about the Silent Hill and Resident Evil games such shameful display. Pyramidhead terrified my friend in the first Silent Hill movie so badly that, she couldn't play any of the games due to her thinking he was in all of them. The Regenerators were both a pain to deal with and scary. The scare Factor was more attributed to their movement and the noise they made constantly. Here's a short video of them:

Damn creepy beasts.*~*

Ha, ha! Yeah, they definitely nailed Pyramid Head in that movie! Easily the best part.
Yeah, that's pretty terrifying! Especially the little tendrils whipping out of their wounds--reminds me of The Thing!

Especially in that one scene that scared my friend, the one before Rose and Laurie headed into the church. That part that got me were those creepy kids, if you can called them that, in the beginning.
There's stronger variants called Iron Maidens that are similar in appearance to Regenerators, but have sharp spikes growing out of them that extend to attack and when shot. Man Resident Evil games have some horrific creature designs.

Oh, yeah! The little Grey Children were pretty freaky! That whole first half of the movie was fantastic, but somehow, for me, it didn't quite hold its quality through the rest of it. Maybe I just wanted more Pyramid Head...
Yeah, I think I've seen YouTube videos of those! Pretty creepy stuff. I really liked Code Veronica--that game had a really bizarre feel to it!

Can't go wrong with more Pyramid Head. Especially if you've seen the other two films because they needed a more appealing antagonist than what we got.
I've never seen much of that Resident Evil Game, but then again I've never actually played any of them. Just seen Playthroughs and various fanart in addition to reading up on some of the creatures in the franchise. Which reminds me have you seen Shin Godzilla? If so what did you think of the ending and the possibilities it was leading to?

Totally! It's been a lot of fun so far! I hope to speed up production at some point, somehow, so it doesn't take another 5-6 years to finish.
Ha, ha! I DO have more plans, as a matter of fact! We've talked about what I want to do with Sai, and I also really want to produce something with the Americana storyline. I'm hoping The Revival might gain some steam and possibly open doors to other opportunities. We'll see how it goes! Oh yeah, and I want the Creepazoids to be an actual toy line.
I'd also love to try to get an indie video game off the ground, like a fighting game or beat'em up, but that'd be way in the future after these other projects are done.

Ha, ha! That's true! I'm mainly focused on The Revival for now, but I'm also tinkering with Americana in the background, when I have a chance. And of course Creepazoids are easy to work on, since I can just draw one or two a week without too much trouble. Eventually I get a set done.
I really want to be able to devote more time to these projects, though, in a professional context. I guess I'll just keep at it and see where it goes!
