Description
Tuor, Idril and Voronwe on the wall, watching the fall of Turgon's Tower. This watercolour was drawn in 1993, after I have read Tolkien's oldest version of "The Fall of Gondolin" ( this accounts for details).

Its filled with thunderous noise and at the same time a terrible quiet.
Its filled with horror and at the same time silent grief.

Wow, I was just looking at this picture, (and combined with Loreena McKennitt's "Anachie Gordon") it made me feel a pang of sorrow. It's just so sad...the ruin of all the world....it almost seems. Beautiful!

In my childhood, I've always thought that the "end of the world" (by nuclear war or some catastrophy) would come on the eve of May Day...
So, when I've read that the Fall of Gondolin happened on the day of summer festival...
The picture has just been scanned, and the colors are brighter than before on the photo!

Oh wow....that is rather interesting. On the eve of May day. I wonder....? Well, who knows when it will come. Though, I think sooner rather than later. Technology has exploded like a catalyst but human temperment is alway the same, and when we have a weapon we can't help but use it.

Damn. That's an ambitious illustration to undertake! Rather good job of it, too.
