You really need to add a warning that this can brick your PC if done incorrectly.

Hi, I have a problem here.
All was going well until step 9.
I had backup/copy authui.dll and keep it in my document file,and I rename the authui.dll in System32 to authui.dll.old.
Now,i cannot copy your authui.dll (x32 or x64) to my System32.
So I replace back my authui.dll from my doc file to System32,but fail..
Now I'm stuck~please help me,anyone. Now I not dare to switch off my laptop.
To be confirmed, my laptop is 32 bit,so I should choose x32 or x64?
Sob Sob please help.

Try to unzip the files to your desktop. make sure to use the x86 (32 bit version) here is the link: [link] DO NOT USE 64bit version
----------------
Try this if you cannot copy the new file to your system folder:
right click ---> authui.dll.old ---> take ownership >>> then rename the file back to authui.dll you should have the default file back.
if that does not work, try file restore >>> open your run and type >> cmd >> then type "sfc -scannow" (without the quotes. it make take a while to restore windows original files back. don't worry nothing will be deleted or removed from your computer)

thank you for your reply.
I have download authui.dll from the link given above, I close all application except some windows. Then I move the downloaded authui.dll to System32.
It showed it is moved to the file, but authui still at my desktop, and I search authui in System32,it shows nothing.
I tried to take ownership this time, but it show 'a device attached to the system is not functioning'.
I try to take ownership and rename authui.dll.old but it show the same message as above.
Am I clear? Any other possible method?

This looks awesome. Unfortunately it totally messed up my login and would not let me onto my computer. I had to run the 'sfc scan' to fix it. Not impressed. Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 x86

Hello there~ I just tried this out and I have two (slight, minor) concerns: the interface for me doesn't look as smooth as it is depicted but looks rather glassy and whenever I lock my computer, the start logo and the phrase "Locking your Computer" shows up partially and, sometimes, not at all. Here's a link to check it out: [link]
