I had mixed feelings about this movie. I liked the plotline and how they made the wolves move (very realistic movements).However, I hated the character designs (they moved like wolves, but they looked like collies) and I absolutely HATED the names. I hate when nature-type movies have characters that give each other human names. That's just...dumb
I liked the Garth/Lilly couple though, so I drew them in a mixture of my style and Balto style.
Done with colored pencils.

I wish the movie was more about Garth and Lilly. I think they named her Lilly because it means "Flower of Innocence" like it's a very innocent and pretty name. But still... now i just skip to Garth and Lily parts 8D

I just think wild animals naming each other after human-names is just silly. Lilly is acceptable, since it's a kind of flower. But "Garth" is dumb (in my opinion), I would've named him Wildfire (for his red coloring). I would've named "Kate" Sundance and I would've called 'Humphrey' either Moon, Silver, Timber or Storm. You know...wolf-names

lol, thank you! I figure since he's an alpha, he carries himself taller plus he has to be big so he can be useful on the hunt. Lilly is smaller and carries herself low, her back is arched and her tail is down, as is the common position of the omega.

Interesting.. For me the most lovely things in the movie are the characters: just the way they are. But maybe you're right with the names...

It was a great movie. I love how the wolves sing. It was like Happy Feet, except with wolves XD But, being I own 3 wolf hybrids, I'm picky about the look of the characters and just thought they should have looked wolfier.
