A bit of Spirit fanart. A new OC I made called 'Rokslyde'. Because Spirit NEEDS a rival stallion to contend with; just like Bambi had to contend with Ronno.

I mean...Spirit was gone from his herd for AT LEAST a year. In that time, his herd would have been taken over by another stallion. And Spirit would have had to fight for it.

This is that rival stallion. 'Rocky', as he is affectionately known to his mares, was given his name because, unlike other horses who carefully pick their way down a steep mountain, Rokslyde jumps off the cliff and then slides down fearlessly.

One of his favorite pastimes is stealing mares from other stallions, thus building up his own herd. But Rocky doesn't just beat the stallion and take the mares. He kills the rival stallion, and then, he kills the colts. The only ones he keeps in his herd are the fillies and the mares. He doesn't even allow his own sons to live long enough to get their first drink of colostrum.

He's a cold, lethal stallion. He fears no one; man or beast.

The only thing that frightens this guy is rattlesnakes and wildfire. He was bitten by a rattler as a foal and almost died. Since then, even the rustling of leaves will cause this stud to move his herd to safer grounds. He tends to stay in the snow-capped mountains to avoid his fears, but he comes down every spring to get new mares for his herd. His favorite place to steal his mares from are the ranches.

Unlike Spirit, who bluffs when he charges people, Rocky won't just slide to a stop and snort in a person's face. He reaches out and bites. Hard. He always aims for the face. Many a cowboy has lost the tip of his nose to this beast.

Sounds like a fun character, huh?
