Description
I finally got close to Oystercatchers again during my Cape May trip. They were very cooperative subjects!Cape May Meadows, New Jersey

This is a very good photo Melissa. It is well exposed, there is good feather detail in the wings, and the eye of the bird is quite clear. The bird is standing off centre which is good, and it is looking towards the negative space - all good. It would be even better if we could see the bird's feet.
Always remember that the point of focus in bird pictures must be the bird's eye. In this shot the sharp wing feathers appear to be the most in-focus. There is also a tiny white spot above the bill about 2/3 of the way down. I would have cloned that out.
Other than those minor things, the photo is quite good. Well done!

Thanks for the critique! Perhaps I should sharpen the eye more. Now that I look at it again - I can see what you are talking about!
