Wow, this is a beautiful piece!
I love all the different colors, and how they blend in such a unique way. The dripping lines increase interest dramatically, and the different layers of paint keep it. I would say it does not have a distinct impact; yes, it is beautiful, but that does not change the fact there is no real point besides being abstract. This is also why I didn't give 5 stars for originality- it is original and very cool, but not to the point where you are creating something entirely different than the original picture besides all the color, and the dripping paint. My only real critique would be to ask; where is the head? And, um... do scorpions have heads, or just eyes? I'm not really sure to be honest! Thank you for sharing this beautiful work of art, and I look forward to seeing more of your work!

Well thank you for your critique. I hadn't painted or sketched much in a few yrs and for some reason I started sketching a scorpion (as shown below). Trying to understand its body and proportions and then had the idea to make it more dramatic by mixing the colors and allowing it to drip on purpose in a few areas. (so a controlled sense of dramatic i guess) From my understanding the Head, body, and tail is all one fluid piece for the most part with diff. texture and hair in some areas and the legs just branch off. Now the Impact portion of the critique I am not to sure, on what that is being analyzed on because clearly the painting is not meant to be a portrait or realistic representation of a scorpion but everyone has a different opinion so your idea of it having an average impact is fair.
