Robert Oppenheimer had recently landed in the recovering country of Japan, taking in the devastation not just as a result of his revolutionary invention, but also the monstrous child it conceived. The crumbling buildings, the consuming fires, and the burning sorrowful cries of survivors filled his senses but his gaze was fixated on the massive mushroom cloud that appeared before him, for he knew that this was not his own bomb.

At last, he reached a clearly and lo, he beheld him; his gargantuan offspring, Godzilla. Godzilla stared up at the looming cloud of ash and radiation; an end result of his powerful atomic beam and a solemn reminded of what made him the way he was. Godzilla couldn’t help but bellow put his thunderous roar, not of victory but out of pain, of sorrow, out of pure hatred. Oppenheimer shed a tear as he could not help but sympathize with the misunderstood beast. Then as Godzilla calmed down, his gaze fell upon his atomic father. Almost as if by recognization, Godzilla walked slowly to meet him and Oppenheimer did not faulter, he did not wain. Godzilla then knelt and his eyes met with Oppenheimer’s; the pair though meeting for the first time, they knew right then and there that they were bonded by their very souls, and as Oppenheimer placed his gentle hand upon Godzilla’s rugged skin, he uttered to his Son:

“We have become Death, the Destroyers of Worlds.”
