"A Distant Death," acrylic & colored pencil on paper, 9x11.75"Come celebrate the release of Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens at Gallery Nucleus's tribute show! My contribution portrays Princess Leia (not Carrie Fisher) in her less known Cloudy City outfit, haloed by the Death Star. Hope you can make it out to cheery California!

That's cool. I love the minimal red and brown coloring. The death star looks like a halo on first sight and then it gets clear it's rather danger...

Huh...I love Leia and am open to a different person portraying her, but his? This is frankly a rather uninspiring portrayal. Consider this: Indiana Jones is going to be portrayed by Chris Prat. This makes sense as both Ford and Prat have that sarcastic, boyish charisma. Leia is beautiful, dark haired, with sharp eyes and soft rounded features. She sports a spirited edge and a fierce defiance, all while maintaining a classy, beautiful image. Leia is a "dame" in the same way that a 1940's female reporter who always gets her story and surprises all the men when she takes down a bad guy with a wicked left hook is a "Dame".
Try a less broad, more rounded face, sharper angles, thinner, sharper lips, and deepen, or sharpen the gaze. maybe un-flatten the loos strands of hair and aim for a dark tone of brown rather than a red-ish.
I'm not certain if this is based on a model or not or what the whole story is, so if there's a greater reason for this, then disregard everything I said. But if this is just an exercise in trying to disconnect the character from it's original actor, I have to say it kind of leaves a bit to be desired.
