I love printmaking. I never really learned how to do it myself.
Your prints are wonderful. I love the whole theme and style that you have created.
I'm going to fav this one and... watch you, I hope that's okay.

again, fantastic. do you do the colors with multiplate, or just careful application of ink to the tile? im a little confused as to how you get those great colors so clean and nice looking on a lino. do you roll it or what? i must know!

nah, it's all the same plate printed reductive. I start by carving out the white. Then I roll up the lightest color (in the case, yellow) and print the yellow layer. Then I carve out the yellow, print the green layer... etc.... I use mostly litho inks. Handschy inks, I believe. And some graphic chemicals perfect pallette inks.

Oh, ok. i didnt understand the reductive thing. so these are all unique, right? since you carve out after each layer, they can only be printed once? that makes them even better. keep up the good work.

I do small editions of 4-8 prints of each, but yes, they can no longer be reproduced.

Sometimes i really hate having to do that, but i guess that makes them more special in a way. I had to scrape out a series of etchings i did to do something else on top of them and i almost cried.

yeah, when I moved out of my old studio I threw tons of copper plates away. Sad, but I think it is important to move on. you usually end up making something better anyway.
