Fine idea for the ethanol people... and the local food coop!

Lord, I love the Midwest. I am a corn-fed Iowa boy from a small town in the boondocks. Little Big Town has a song on their album "The Road To Here" called Boondocks - I keep my heart and soul in the boondocks! From Summers detasseling [link] to my childhood "corn forts" with friends to my family's current investments in fuel alternative Ethanol production plants ... corn is my heart and soul. I am SO HAPPY when I see this photograph. I don't think non-country folk will ever understand the joy and feeling of seeing a good corn crop or running your fingers over the clingy fur of a corn leaf. My arms get goosebumps when I see our farmers out there harvesting by moonlight, eating their meals in the field, and collapsing at night to a hard sleep and dreams of the elevator lines.

How poetic and so very real at the same time. I didn't grow up with farmers but have that kinship because of where I live now and because my husband's family farm is so close by. When I was a child I played "jungle" in the corn fields near my home and had so many games involving those long rows! I am so pleased your family is involved with the ethanol thing and hope it goes that way... god knows, the USA can produce corn like nobody else!!

That's awesome! It's hard to walk into a cornfield and take a great photo. I know...I've been staring at the field behind our house, wondering all summer what to do with it. Mucho Kudos!

Super shot, it all seems to be striving towards the sky. Too bad me'n my buddies have the joke that corn will be our downfall.

smell that fresh country air, squint into the blue sky and sigh this is what farm land is, simple beauty, plants, earth and sky. Amazing shot
