Description I was walking around a park where there were lots of people. Children were playing rolling down this short hill and I was watching. This little girl saw my camera and kept her eyes on me as she moved to the top of the little hill and sat beside her mother facing the opposite direction. When I raised the camera to photograph her she was very pleased. I did two shots and this is the second one. It's so fun when kids will look right at my camera.. kind of amazing even.

I agree, wholeheartedly. My sister and I passed a playground yesterday. I just couldn't get up the guts to stop and photograph, especially since it was a daycare. I think a park is a better place or maybe beach to capture photos of strangers who may be willing, such as this little girl, to pose for your camera. That is an opportunity that I wouldn't pass up.

ive been working mostly since i got back from uni! just had to look at SOOO many deviations so apologies if i didnt comment on all of your submissions! im off on holiday on saturday which im really looking forward to soo ill be gone another 3 weeks but then im hoping to be able to return properly!

Great shot, kids will often surprise you with how open they will be with the camera. I teach grade 8 and often by that age they (especially the girls) don't want their picture but every once in a while you see one like this little cutie and the shot just speaks for itself. Hope her mom got a copy it is a definate keeper.

wow, you teach 8th grade! Sometimes that is so hard! Do you like it? anyway, thanks for your comment. You are right. I love it when kids are so welcoming of the camera. For some reason, I have a pretty easy time getting people to let me photograph them. Sometimes I ask and sometimes I just do it... like with this little girl.. she knows and I know but nobody says anything.

I'm hoping I'll run into her mom so I can get a copy of it to her.

Yep I teach 8th grade. It can be tough or should I say challenging but I really do enjoy the kids most of the time...lol. I love taking shots at school. I have used photos for many art/writing lessons and experiences. I did a photoshop/art lesson once where they got to take shots of each other and then try different filters on them. It was so much fun watching what they came up with. I like doing a macro lesson with the kids where they get to take a macro shot of anything in the school. Then we blow it up in the photochopier and see if anyone can figure out what it is. Thanks for your great comments.
