I just had to fav Frank! I have this same figure in the flower garden outside my window here! I'm not terribly religious but I like Frank. My patron saint is Jude ie. patron saint of hopeless causes.

This particular statue of Frank happens to be in Michigan too. It's at Cross Village way up North... Leg's Inn. I am not religious but LOVE the art of the heyday of such stuff.

When I met religious art face to face on my last trip to Europe, I was overwhelmed with the spiritual vibe. Much to my surprise, I might add!

I was never really exposed to religious art until I took art history in college. My area of study was Medieval art and I loved it... because of the vibe and the passion with which it was approached. There was nothing of the Platonic qualities of the Greek statues!

Thanks Steve. I thought this was really a nice one. I'd like to have a big garden where I could have a bunch of these!

I like the way you bring the old stones to life.
