This is sensational. You've got the symmetry perfect here, which is wonderful to see. Also, the foreground detail to the left of the frame is nice, it's not to in your face but leads your eye across the frame to the horizon which is excellent technique. The clarity of the lake is quite astounding. You've really captured this scene with great skill, wonderful!

I wish we had a lake by us. Have a river but it's so dirty. This looks very clear as you can see the rocks. Nice shot Yvonne

Actually we only got about 3 inches of snow......and in some spots 5" but that was caused by drifting. You snowed in?

No, we just got some flurries but still insanely cold.

Yea......hope our tulips survive this and our honeysuckle, they were blooming last Saturday and then Sunday it turned back cold and all week cold again. Geesh one day of warm weather and the flowers come up and then wham back to cold and the flowers don't stand a chance

Marie-Aude In reply to myrnajacobs [2006-03-22 15:15:41 +0000 UTC]

Here in France, we don't get use to "Native American" Maybe because we loved Indians so much we never grasped it wwas considered pejorative

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

myrnajacobs In reply to Marie-Aude [2006-03-22 15:42:56 +0000 UTC]

I, personally, don't think it is and have certainly never used it that way. When, as a kid, I used to play cowboys and indians, I'd always want to be the indian. They have much more fun outfits and got to use bow and arrows!

I like how you can see the rocks on the bottom through the water. Wow this is a very big lake, is this the one by your house?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

myrnajacobs In reply to kayceeus [2006-03-21 21:34:57 +0000 UTC]

Yes, it is the one by my house. It's about 330 ft deep and 44 miles of shoreline (approximately). It is one of the larger lakes around here and it's very very cold most of the year, warming up in July and August to swiming temps for me anyway. Some hardy folk go in other times!

kayceeus In reply to myrnajacobs [2006-03-21 23:01:24 +0000 UTC]

myrnajacobs In reply to kayceeus [2006-03-21 23:36:37 +0000 UTC]

Yes, it is across the road (can't afford lake front right now) and we have an excellent view!

So serene. I love the way you can capture such peacefulness and serenity in your shots. I could wiggle my toes in that water, and I remember the rocks on the bottom of the Long Island Sound when I lived in New York, this is what this reminds me of

This lake is so amazingly clear! It's like that all year and when it's calm with no waves at all, it's so magical and serene! (but the sailing people don't enjoy that part!)
