Michael Magnero was not an average kid him and his dad worked for the biggest crime boss in Megalo City (the magneronian version of Chicago), but they didn't do it cause they were evil. They needed the money because his mom needed an operation.

One day, they were going to steal a powerful device: A machine that could take away a Magneronian's elemental powers. When Ruinor came in he easily put him down, but Michael lost his powers when he crashed into the machine.

After constructing a powerful battle suit in prison ( thanks to some "special" gifts from the out side), consisting of many weapons that mad the Iron Man and War Machine armors look like toys, he broke out of prison after a month in confinement. When Runo came and they dueled one more time Michael addmitted his reasons for his crimes. Runo, being one to look at the Why, not the What, forgave him and asked him to become part of his team, so he could pay for his mom's operation.

Months later he and Michael (now bearing the name Mechano to avoid detection from his former colleagues) became best buds and now do all sorts of crazy stuff, when their not beating on bad guys.
