Description
"Romeo"A bichon I was commissioned to do. I had a wonderful reference photo.
I really enjoyed drawing him.
I found during this that I REALLY enjoy coloring and detailing grass for no apparent reason. lol.
Done with graphite and Prismacolor colored pencils.
9 x 12 paper.

Thanks so much Evy.Β
The grass was fun and is relatively easy to do!
You can outline a few strands yourself in dark green, make the base of the blades dark green, fade out as you go up,
add yellow to the tip, and use green yellow to meet the middle.Β
Its so easy and fun to play with.

The grass took less time than the dog. LOL. ^^
I was working very hard to make the dog look like the individual in the photo I was referencing.

I had a good reference photo.
And I took advantage of contrast.
The grass was done with 3 colors. Dark green, yellow green, and canary yellow.
Anyone can play with at home is to outline maybe 3-4 blades of grass in dark green,
make the base of the grass dark green then lighten up before you get about halfway
up the grass, add yellow to the tip of the crass, and use the Β yellow green to meet them in the middle.
It looks purdy. And its fun to play around with.
I am sure you could use a light blue over some of that and it would be pretty too.
