Description
This is something new I've been playing with. This is actually the second Tree Spirit I've done. The other is currently up for auction. They are sculpted from Aves Apoxie Sculpt, and the faces are polymer clay. The "leaves" are made from gemstone chip beads, this one in particular has Moss Agate, and Amazonite beads, and the "flower tendrils" are made from opalescent glass seed beads. The roots are sculpted around real river stones, and decorated with spice dirt and various mosses. She is weaving (or watching a spider weave) a spider web between her branch "hands". I really enjoy sculpting these pieces.Related content

A tremendous idea for sculpting. I love the natural look to your trees, from the textures to the angles and shapes of the tree itself and the branches. The use of the stone chips for leaves is a fantastic detail and really adds to the piece as a whole. Definitely a favorite for me.

What? How is it this thing doesn't have more comments? I must blame the system. CURSE YOU, SYSTEM!
All the details on this thing... the bark must've driven you bonkers, not to mention sticking on all the little stone-leaves! And the spiderweb is a rocking thing to add to it; it gives the thing action instead of just leaving poor spirit standing there.

Hehe. Actually the bark is rather easy, it's the friggin' beads that give me the major headache. Most of these tree spirits have the equivalent of 9 to ten feet worth of strung gemstone beads on them. Tedious is not the word for it!
