2009Under every nice artwork, is a nicer pencil.
So I had a little time to draw this weekend, and alot of stuff to draw. However I came across 's contest.[link]
He had one catagory that said this:
"ANOTHER SPACE- Focusing on your art so hard you lose track of time for 48-54 hours and come back only when you are snapped out of it or you just get flat tired."
,,,and this image came to me and I had to draw it as an entry to his contest.
Sometimes when I draw, I lose myself completely. I snap back to reality and realize for a few seconds, I do not know what time of the day it is and/or if it been seconds or hours that I have been drawing. I love this feeling...it is like I get to leave earth for awhile.
I tried to just sit down and do this all in one sitting....just to find another space.

Before I say anything I wish to preface this by saying that this is an exquisite piece.
I know you are doing much of what I am going to criticize you on because of limitation of your materials. But I feel you are far too talented and some how we need to get you working with better stuff.
I feel you should be doing some modeling and get a better range of shades in each color instead of the flat color with the lines your pens make as you fill in the space.
You have a marvelous sense of movement that cane only be improved with more control over your color and texture.
I think the idea of the eye is great but I think the actuality of the eye could be improved by adding a little texture to the iris. Here again I feel you would benefit from more flexible materials.
In reading back over this I sound like I am being harsh on you but I want you to remember that I have develop a deep love for your work. Also I think some of it may becoming from my own frustration over not being able to afford better materials or more time for my own work.

I think that this is great! I really like the shapes you have here. However I feel like you could put some more dimension to your colors. I think you could make this pop even more. I REALLY like your shit A LOT!

Yeah I was trying to go for an "iconic" sort-a look with the colors, buuuuuuuut I really didn't pull it off very well. Oh well live and learn LOL! Thank you man, very much. I always appriciate feedback!

Oh yeah I agree with bear totally. He pushes me to do new stuff and try new thing...every artist needs that.I need to get educated(and money) for new materials and new ways of making artwork. Thank you my friend as always

This is quite fascinating. I really wonder how you managed to achieve that symmetric effect. Probably just the result of hard work and dedication. I think, however, that the whole thing would work better if it weren't cut by the frame on the right and the left side.

Ok so here is the story...you know how in kids coloring books, sometimes they have a "how to draw" section where they have a character inside a series of squares. At the bottom they have empty squares. So the child only draws what is in that square....well I kinda use a tech. like that...kinda....anyway I do alot of measuring to get the symmetry....but...I measured the paper wrong
