Description
Very first real try sculpting a dragon in ZBrush.I had the tryout version two years ago but it was so damn complicated. This time I watched a whole bunch of Tutorial so I didn't mess up everything.
But I think I went a little too crazy with the details.... it took so damn long to finish this! ;_;

I love it! Can't believe it's your first dragon. The detail is phenomenal. I love the sides cheeks and skin around the mouth, it's very acurate of crocodilian creatures and komodo dragons. I can't wait to see this colored.

my my, this is really nice work. Everything I'm seeing in this has a lot of work put into it, and it's very believable. This must have take a long time to make and render. Good luck if you go and construct the body.

This is very cool. BTW, how did you take these shots? Screen caps or is there a way to export to .psd? I figure the latter since you'd want to be able to color the thing but... I'm a total newbie to Zbrush and Sculptris.

its actually a plug in that is used to import it to photoshop for finetuning but if you want to do it strait from zbrush its just a few clicks hereand there on the program.

o-m-g... all those details are made with polygons? are you kiddin' me? ether you got a real render-horse at home or you finished the last parts under tormenting lagg...
i'm using sculptris a lot. since its from pixologic i think most of the modeling part is similar to zbrush. once you're done sculpting the basic shape WITHOUT details try switching to paint mode and do the rest via bump-mapping. sadly on my laptop i'm limited to round about 160.000 polygons until the lagg hinders my workflow. but i still can do a great amount of detail with this method. will upload a mesh soon. currently retopoing it.
if you like i can give you the textures I'm using for bump-mapping ^.^ don't how your access to the zbrush texture library is.
anyway nice work. very detailed of course. a really good amount of anatomical background there. the shape looks absolutely plausible in every way. if you'd put this next to some dinosaurs in a museum i definitely would believe you if you'd say its real ^_^ espeacially like the base of the horns!
looking forward to the textured and rigged mesh ^_°

that and a lot of researching and learning lol. it takes forever to learn certain techniques for this program.

egal wie lange es gedauert hat, es hat sich gelohnt! sieht einfach klasse aus. Grade all die Details lassen diesen hier sehr real wirken. Hut ab!

Holy. That is very detailed and awesome. Are you planning on uv mapping and texturing it?

Only 9 hours? Would've taken me days. I'd love to see you putting a texture on this dragon.
I'd just want to mention that you've influenced my style of drawing dragons, so a really big thank you to you, mate.
