Very amazing tutorial and great tips as well! I don't tend to think of something as realistic or not though. I say that inventing gene-defected non-flying dragons would be neat! I'm talking little pudgy things with minuscule wings. But proportionate dragons are cool too.

It's a really good tutorial all around, very good tips. However, while reading I felt... Put off by it almost, like I didn't want to read it when I went in being rather excited to see how you draw dragons. I suppose it felt something like a lecture to me and at some points it seemed like you had started to get tired of what you were writing because the grammar started to go downhill and instead of offering deeper explanation you started using "and stuff."
The water dragon bit also bothered me. You stated it was your opinion (well, "option") but then proceeded to go on about how wrong having wings on water dragons were.
I hope this doesn't sound too mean, I really did find it useful, but I also wanted to offer some critique instead of just saying I liked it and going on.

I loved the individuality rant you did at the bottom, as much as I loved the actual tutorial.
Why?
Because people need to hear it. And it wasn't even a rant. More like a helpful suggestion. =]

One word on don't copy someone's style.
When learning you learn another persons way of doing it. Part of which is their "style". As long as you use someone elses style, you will be the pupil, the student.
Just like everything in life, take what you know, and expand it. Look at how other people do it. Mix the styles.
Bruce Lee said(paraphrased) learn it, if its useful, keep it, if it doesn't work for you, forget it.
Always strive to be the master of your art. Not the pupil of another.

I believe sea dragons could have wings because it could use the for flying AND swimming. The wings propel them through air, why not water?
