The Hessian was actually not the first headless rider. The legend of the dullahan actually goes all the way back to early Europe. Americans adopted their own version during the revolutionary war. Celty herself is actually from the manga/anime Durarara!! She is an older Irish dullahan looking for her stolen head in Japan. Over time her horse Shooter, whom is a shape shiftier, changes into a motorcycle so he blends in on the streets of Ikebukuro. He also does a motorcycle with side car, a headless horse with buggy, just the headless horse and even a bicycle on occasion.
