My three closest siblings and I got into Bionicles when they first premiered in the US, despite me being significantly younger than them. It was funny, the way we split it up, I was the youngest, and obsessed with the "green" ones (as a kid, I couldn't understand how the color green meant "air"--I just called them the "Plant Bionicles."). nine years older than me were the next youngest boys, who are twins. One always went for the Fire and Stone-themed ones (Red and Brown), while his twin preferred Water, Air, and Ice (Blue, Green, White). The brother slightly older than them only ever bought the black ("Earth") ones. So, between us, we covered the elemental types. One of the twins got so mad when I accidentally lost Kopaka's sword! We never did find it, either. Hard to believe that was almost 20 years ago...

You know what DeviantArt needs? Emoticons that look like the Bionicle letters. I mean, think of it: YouΒ΄re having a public conversation in some comments, but you donΒ΄t want anyone to know what youΒ΄re saying. You know, just those who know Bionicle should be able to read it. Then you jut write it in Bionicle letters and BAAM, secret message for everyone to see.

I don't know why but Kopaka has been one of my favorites for a while. I like the swordsman aspect to him, I really like the choice of making his sword more on his wrist. The spindly build of the character actually works well with the older figures design.Β

Kopaka always was/is/will be my favorite, with Lewa, Matoro and Jaller Mahri not far behind,

I always see Matoro and Lhikan and Jaller as my three favorites because they've all made the ultimate sacrifice at one point. Jaller sacrificed himself as a MatoranΒ to save Takua from being killed by a Rahkshi (he was later brought back to life, but still), Toa Matoro gave his own life to awaken Mata Nui, and Turaga Lhikan saved Vakama from Makuta Teridax's Shadow Hand.
Though if I had to choose one favorite, it'd be Matoro, for he saved the entire matoran universe by allowing Mata Nui to awaken.
