Bittybones AU (c) Fucken-Crybaby

===HOW DO I ADOPT A PLUMEY?===
You just decide to and do! They are totally and completely free for anyone to adopt, so no need to ask (I'll always say yes). You can adopt as many as you like, just make sure to take care of them. You can write about your Plumey/Plumies or draw them, change their clothes, give them accessories, etc. The types described here are like describing the differences between a German Shepard dog and a Great Dane dog. They're all Plumies, just different "breeds", if you will.

If you adopt a Plumey, please make sure to credit me for the creation of the species and type.
Also, DO NOT adopt them just to kill or maim them (or let other Bitties and creatures kill or maim them). Also also, DO NOT clip their wings. That’s just cruel.

To start us off is the Primary set of Plumey Bitties and you can find general information about each of the subtypes below.

General Plumey Notes
Keep in mind that each Plumey is an individual and the information here is merely a guide to helping you get to know these little balls of feathers. Your Plumey may differ from the information listed here. The only non-negotiable attributes are Height, Wing Length, and Plumage.

=> Plumage is an important one to note here. While a Plumey’s wings can be just about any style (fluffy, sleek, messy, etc.), the general colors cannot be changed. A Redbird will always be some shade of red, for example. Plumies have been known to use safe dyes and paints to change the color of one or two prominent feathers, but NEVER their entire plumage. That would be akin to them being ashamed of their natural color. Asking a Plumey to dye all of his feathers would greatly upset him (since you’re basically telling him that you’re ashamed of his natural colors).

=> Eyelights are always round when the Plumey’s mood is in a neutral state. They can be solid, a single ring, or multiple rings. When in a highly emotional state, their eyelights may morph into different shapes to reflect their mood, but they will always revert to the round rings once they’ve calmed down.

=> Plumies are hypo-allergenic and do not trigger allergic reactions to: feathers, birds, or pets.

=> Plumies can be/identify as either gender, or no gender at all!

=> Plumies can talk (speak human languages) if they've had a chance to learn and will usually speak the most common language of the area they live in, but they can learn other languages just like humans can. They also have their own natural birdsong and calls (which have been linked next to their subtype name).

Redbird Plumey (Example of natural birdsong and calls )
    Height / Wing Length: 5.5 - 6.2” (14 - 15.7cm) / 6.7 - 8.1” (16.7 - 20.7cm)
    Plumage: Dull to bright red
    Diet: Omnivore
    Favorite Food: Sunflower seeds
Superstition: This type is considered a good luck charm.
Traits: Extremely observant, a bit of a match-maker, passionate about his interests, well-behaved generally, romantic, not shy about expressing his feelings, optimistic but practical
Notes: Moderately territorial. He will molt his plumage at least once a year. When he’s overly emotional, he can sometimes mistake his reflection for another Plumey and may start talking to it (or yelling at it depending on his emotional state).

Bluebird Plumey (Example of natural birdsong and calls )
    Height / Wing Length: 4.8 - 6.1” (12.3 - 15.4cm) / 8.5 - 10.9” (21.5 - 27.7cm)
    Plumage: Pale to medium blue
    Diet: Omnivore
Favorite Food: Insects (specifically hunting live ones)
Superstition: This type is said to bring happiness.
Traits: Gentle, generally non-aggressive, prefers to avoid confrontation, patient, if provoked he will stand his ground and defend himself, thoughtful, quiet around new people, can be stubborn and slow to change his mind or behavior
Notes: Only territorial when nesting and can be fiercely protective of offspring. He will molt his plumage once a year during July through September. This type isn’t particularly fond of being around others and it may take him a long time to adapt to life in a household with other Plumies and/or Bitties.

Yellowbird Plumey (Example of natural birdsong and calls )
    Height / Wing Length: 4.3 - 5.5” (11 - 14cm) / 7.5 - 8.7” (19 - 22cm)
Plumage: Pale to bright yellow with distinctive black and white markings (see image)
Diet: Vegan (no animal or dairy products or insects)
    Favorite Food: Beet greens
Superstition: This type is said to help you achieve your goals.
Traits: Highly sociable, fond of the company of others, he tends to be more passive and go-with-the-flow, he likes hanging off of perches by his little bird feet alone, very optimistic, idealist, likes dancing and other similar activities, clearly and often expresses his gratitude for not only the good things in like but also the bad
Notes: Sometimes territorial when nest-building. Will sometimes bond with more than one mate. He will molt his plumage twice a year: once in Spring and once in Autumn. This type is very strict about their diet and will get sick if they’re fed any meat or dairy. It is not recommended for this Plumey to be left alone for long. If you have to be out of the house frequently and can’t bring him with you, it is suggested you adopt a companion (or two) for him.

Grackle Plumey (Example of natural birdsong and calls )
    Height / Wing Length: 5.6 - 6.7” (14.1 - 17cm) / 7 - 8.5” (17.8 - 21.5cm)
Plumage: Black with a faint iridescent sheen
Diet: Omnivore (Not picky in the slightest)
Favorite Food: Prefers foods high in protein and savory flavors
Superstition: This type is said to bring courage to others.
Traits: Extremely smart, loves puzzles and problem-solving, creative, flexible thinker, prefers warmer climates, likes playing in water but cannot swim, encourages others to let out repressed emotions (usually by annoying them until they speak their mind), can easily become bored
Notes: Some can be a bit territorial, but not usually. Will often bond with multiple mates, those these bonds are usually short-lived. He will molt his plumage once a year during July or August. This type has an unusually strong bite force and can easily crack open tough nuts like chestnuts and acorns with ease, so be careful not to get bitten! Each individual has certain things he likes to steal and hoard, but they all seem to like buttons (though they do have color preferences).

Mimic Plumey (Example of natural birdsong and calls ; known to mimic others' calls)
    Height / Wing Length: 5 - 6.9” (12.8 - 17.5cm) / 6.9 - 7.6” (17.5 - 19.4cm)
Plumage: Gray and brown with distinctive white markings (see image)
    Diet: Omnivore
    Favorite Food: Fruit
Superstition: This type is said to grant protection to those around him.
Traits: Very smart, has an excellent memory (especially for faces), each individual has particular ways of doing things (almost to the point of calling it OCD) and can get upset or grumpy if forced to change these behaviors, he will rarely explain why something has to be done a certain way (only that it is just done that way), bold, outgoing and not shy in the slightest, loves to show off and be the center of attention
Notes: Very territorial towards others of his subtype. Highly aggressive towards intruders once eggs have been laid. Persistent threats to the nest (even perceived ones) are driven away and other Plumies of this subtype will come to help. Very protective of his offspring. Will rarely form bonds with multiple mates. He can accurately and eerily mimic any voice or sound he has heard (but can’t make up new words in a specific voice unless he’s heard them before).

EDIT: Tweaked some information and modified some formatting. Added notes about Plumies' voices and examples of their birdsong.

lol! xD

I understand the feeling, my brain has been overrun with them for almost a week now >v>'

But yes, all of them are open. These are types of Plumies (not individuals) and therefore cannot run out or be closed

Wait do they have tails

NanoBanana In reply to Christy-F [2020-04-05 00:39:29 +0000 UTC]

Nope! Closest thing they have to a tail is their head plume (which is more like a crest than a tail)

Thank you! ^_^

And since they're only types of Plumies (not individuals) all of them are available for anyone to adopt and in any amount.

And yes! Eventually there will be more Plumey types. I may also branch out into other Bitty types as well, but for now I'm happy just working on Plumies

These are all different types of Plumey (like a Doberman is one kind of dog while a Lab is another) so there are lots of Redbirds that need good homes. Feel free to adopt one if you like!
