Description
To purchase this image as an exclusive limited edition print please visit my website @ WWW.NATEZEMAN.COMWhen we were in homer we arranged to have a small boat take us out into Kachemak Bay to try to see some puffins. We found some after a short while but photographing them was near impossible. The waves were rough this day.. the boat was rocking up and down wildly and the puffins too were going up and down with the waves. Needless to say it made for very tricky shooting conditions.
Horned Puffin - Kachecmak Bay, Alaska

I was in Scotland a few years back, and we went on a boat tour of Staffa and the Treshnish Isles. I tried ALL DAY to get a picture of a puffin. No waves, no rocking boats, just solid land. But every time I tried to get a picture, those puffins flew away or ducked into holes. Finally, I gave up and put the camera away. 10 seconds later, a puffin landed about 2 feet away from me and stood there staring at me.
In Iceland they had puffin on the menu. I made sure to order one.

You always overcome anything that is put in your way. What an amazingly well composed, and clear, crisp shot for where you were shooting from.

Amazing catch, wonderful colors.
Maybe I will invert it, so that the bird will have more space infront. But I'm the last person who can teach the master of photography, like you are.
Great job!

Amazing shot, especially considering the circumstances. On top of everything else, shooting from a boat is a GREAT way to get seasick.
