We found some after a short while but photographing them was near impossible. The waves were rough this day.. the boat was rocking up and down wildly and the puffins too were going up and down with the waves. Needless to say it made for very tricky shooting conditions.

been spotting puffins several times in both norway and on iceland and one thing has really struck me; puffin's a really clumsy animal.
Landing on the shoreline in heavy winds almost looks like a suicide mission, sometimes bouncing several times before they have control over them selves. And take-off is pretty much falling from a cliff until they've gain the necessary speed... And in water, as so clearly seen on your pic, there's som heavy footwork
but yet, a beautiful but misarble-looking fellow
