Wonderful shot. I'm not far from Sanibel and occassionally we get them in the retention pond behind me but more often they're flying high overhead and they're beautiful.

they are very interesting birds for sure. they dont have a huge presence in the US but they are found all along the Gulf Coast

Yeah I don't know what's up with the range map I'm looking at, but they're definitely found up the Atlantic coast as well. I've seen a ton around St. Augustine and they get up into Georgia. They are also occasionally found much further north... Like where Ryan gets to see them.

do you know if their pink color gets deeper with their diet, like a flamingo? The ones I have seen in captivity are paler in color.
