iTunes Theme inspired by the iOS7 Music App, made for the OSX iTunes App.
Compatible with Mac iTunes 11+
Install Instructions
1. Quit iTunes.
2. Drag the iTunes.rsrc file to the alias folder provided (remember to backup the original file from Applications/iTunes/Contents/Resources)
3. Drag the TextStyles.plist file to the alias folder provided (remember to backup the original file from Applications/iTunes/Contents/Resources/English.lproj)
4. Open iTunes. Enjoy!
*Works with any View Option and all Media types.
To get the same View featured in the screenshot do this:
1. Hide the Sidebar. Unfortunately, the sidebar can’t be modded through the rsrc file (same goes for the list background and the selection highlights).
2. Select “Music" from the left drop down menu.
3. Click Playlists in the center nav. The default View mode should be List but if it’s not select “List View” from the right drop down menu.
4. Go to View>View Options. Check "Show Artwork.” Check “Always.” Set the size to Small.
*Does not work on Retina Macs or Windows.
*If you're using a Flavours theme make sure you hard exclude iTunes in Flavours Prefrences.
*Almost everything in the app is modded with the exception of the Video Player and iTunes Radio. If you notice something that doesn’t look right or is missing please message me.
*If anyone knows how to edit/locate the NIB files (I think they’re NIB’s) that contain the sidebar, list background and selection highlights please drop me a note.
*To uninstall, simply repeat the installation process. Drag your backed up iTunes.rsrc and TextStyles files to the alias folders instead of the modified ones. If you didn’t back up, you need to download and re-install iTunes (your media will not be lost or effected in any way).

AWESOME THEME! Thanks a lot! Although... I have found one little Bug(or maybe it's supposed to be that way) - when more than one Device is connected the Devices-Icon is just a gray Box - which doesn't look as awesome as the rest of the theme

nate, would you let me try to optimize it for retina ?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
nateblunt In reply to Olivierdud [2014-05-17 17:55:02 +0000 UTC]
Ya do you have experience making pixel perfect graphics with Adobe Illustrator? I have one file with all the images that could be scaled up for Retina. The only problem is, by the time you finish the new iTunes beta will be released making the theme obsolete.

Actually, it works fine with 11.2. You just have to reapply the theme after the update.

I don't think that has anything to do with my theme, which only edits images and fonts. Wish I could be more of a help.

You can use either DeskShade, which covers your desktop icons and has a menu bar icon, or Obsidian Menu Bar, which, with Photoshop, can cancel out the shadow.

nateblunt In reply to TechiEmmanuel [2014-05-08 02:58:52 +0000 UTC]
Thanks Techi!
Just to clarify for others: You don't need to download or install the Obsidian app. You only need to follow step #7 in its instructions.
Also, if Obsidian is installed after my Mavericks Theme it will overwrite all the menubar icons and bg. Install it before installing my theme and you're good to go.

Changing the resolution isn't ideal, but it works!

Long story: I had iTunes open while using AirPlay Display with my Apple TV. It's set to 720p, so the MacBook forces itself into 1280x720. I noticed iTunes had that flat look after. So I thought, if I can force the MacBook into a non-Retina resolution, the iOS themes will work. A quick Bing search gave me SwitchRes X—it can force your Mac into a certain resolution. On my 13", I set it to 1680x1050, and everything worked perfectly! I just exchanged my MacBook for a 15" today, so I have to set everything up. Let's see how it goes...

Oooohhh okay that makes sense. Pretty clever. I don't think I would want to sacrifice the high resolution just to use my theme but to each his own. Thanks for the info dude.
