Hi, I went out today for a bit down by the marsh,to check on my birds. While there I found this New England water Snake as it was stretched out on a log, soaking up the morning sun and warming up. these are one cool looking snake, and later on in the year,the top colors really come out. they are a dark tan with red and yellow patches.

enjoy this pic, if you're not afraid of a " harmless " water snake....though they can startle you when camo'd up in the grass and you spook them by your feet ! Yup..instant jump start....
