Description
patch notes*Same tutorial, updated for windows 10 since nobody is stuck on 7 anymore.
*It also looks much nicer now, woot woot!
*Smaller and easier to load, just as helpful.
Benefits to this method versus restarting your computer:
-Restarting your computer too often is not good for it!
-When you have a good idea, get to drawing it faster!
-Works on virtually every brand of WACOM drawing tablets.
Warning: This will result in the loss of any pen pressure settings and preferences you have set.

if your tablet has touch capabilities, are you able to sense pressure by touching with your finger?

Actually, I'm having the same problem with Medibang, so it isn't just the program.

Not sure, it's too much trouble to take off the panel and then replace it, but I know it's a Wacom that I've had for about 2 years. The tablet occasionally - about twice a month - has problems with the pen not responding and the pen pressure being weird.

Have you ever tried replacing the pen or the nib on the pen? Sometimes that can fix everything. Also making sure you keep the drivers updated is hugely important, an old driver somehow messes up everything lol.

sorry for my delayed reply, some things happened on my end that i had to deal with
sometimes medibang can be pretty weird when it's not updated (it's what I use as well)
another thing possibly, if you're using windows, go into your "wacom tablet properties", and under the mapping tab on the bottom right there should be a little checkbox that says 'use windows ink'
disable the heck out of that. make sure it's not enabled because it causes so many problems. personally it makes my tablet lag really badly when it shouldn't be. every time you restart your computer you'll have to turn it off again.
Does the tablet work in simple programs such as Paint?

What model of tablet are you using?

nautcious In reply to LightestNightmare [2017-10-15 02:37:19 +0000 UTC]
Have you gone into the actual settings and calibrated the sensitivity?
If there isn't anything there, I would say uninstall and redownload updated drivers from the website! I was having a bunch of problems not to long ago, updated the drivers and they all went away.
If none of the above work, try replacing the little tip of the pen? The ones on my intous were in a compartment on the bottom where the batteries and stuff are.
Worst case scenario, did you get a warranty on it that is still active?

okay so
i tried this and it didnt work for me? but the thing is, my pen pressure doesn't work ONLY in sai/csp but it works in medibang. but i hate medibang :'>
(edit: i have a wacom sketch)

nautcious In reply to awildkyleeappears [2017-08-12 16:20:10 +0000 UTC]
Did you make sure to close sai before you reset the file utility?
It sounds like it might be an issue with sai if the pressure is working in other programs. If you torrented it/got it for free slightly illegally like most people there might be an issue with the copy you received if it isn't legitimate.
The only other thing I could think of is sai not being compatible with the Sketch tablet for whatever reason, has it ever worked before?

awildkyleeappears In reply to nautcious [2017-08-18 23:15:57 +0000 UTC]
yup! it was closed.
i...did get it off of tumblr. torrented. bUT it did work before! the other thing i failed to mention is that when i try to draw a curve, it draws a straight line THEN it goes into the curve.

tbh this happens to me all the time, i can draw about once and then if my computer is closed or goes to sleep, it switches to the weird auto draw no pen pressure shit and makes lines all over the place. so far tutorials like these havent helped, but i'm still looking because restarting every time i wanna draw is so so annoying it makes me not wanna draw at all
tldr its a common thing i think? and has been going on since my first wacom in like 2015
edit: got it to work after restarting both the wacom professional service and touch keyboarding and handwriting panel service
maybe try doing both of these after crashing the drawing program with task manager and opening it back up once theyve restarted if you havent already

nautcious In reply to awildkyleeappears [2017-08-18 23:43:13 +0000 UTC]
that's.... definitely weird.
I'm not totally sure about the sketch, but if you're using windows you might have this, go into your wacom tablet properties and make sure you have "windows ink" turned off, somewhere in the mapping options. that causes all sorts of problems.
thats like the last thing i can think of, otherwise i would just try redownloading sai and see if that fixes it. or rummage around in the sai preferences for anything that seems sketchy related to pressure

awildkyleeappears In reply to nautcious [2017-08-22 01:47:49 +0000 UTC]
when i went into my wacom tablet properties, it responded with an error message. i do think its windows ink though, as my problems actually did start around the time it auto downloaded. i've already redownloaded sai :,)

i noticed i've been having trouble with my tablet as well, found out there was a driver update yesterday from a few weeks ago, went thru with it and it fixed all of my problems :0
maybe that'll help?
