Entirely for this reason hereI completely fell in love with the concept drawing of Flynn/Bastian that’s been floating around. He is so large and adorable!
So I had to draw him of course, but it also gave me an excuse to draw what I really wanted to see in Tangled: tangles.
Did it bother no one but me that her hair was not in a giant rats nest by the end of the day? That hair should have been tangled in trees, tied in knots, getting stuck on twigs… but nuthin. I thought that was a shame.
Anyway, so here’s Rapunzel after waking up (a cranky person I’d think) and she’s going to enlist Flynn/Bastian’s help to tame her hair.

Bastian was just a concept for what eventually became Flynn Ryder. I love his hulking form and I imagine he was increadibly sweet natured.

Oh ok! I kinda like it too, now that I see it. A buff Flynn would have been cool, but the one we have is also realy good.

He's actually the best representation of a guy. I mean, yeah, the prince thing is pretty nice, but I think Flynn makes a more credible guy I'D

No, I haven't watched Brave and strangely enough I have no interest to. Her hair does seem to have a life of its own from the commercials I've seen.

From what I've heard, they developed a 3D rendering program *just* for her hair. If you like, go on youtube and look for "How Rapunzel Should Have Ended" It's funny XD

I too thought they were going to have a lot of fun with her insane hair. Especially considering one of the concept artists wore a football helmet, attached a 70 foot blonde wig to it and ran around Disney Studios just to see what it would be like.
That or he was stone drunk.
Regardless, it happened. I want to work there.

Thank you! It just.... bothered the crap out of me.
There could have been so many more funnies ie. getting tied up in her hair on accident, tripping Flynn, birds live in it, horse mistaking her hair for a stack of hay etc.
And for tension ie. running through the woods and baddies step on her hair, yank her back, trees grab on to her tangles and she gets caught, falls in water weighed down by mass of hair, trapped in a web of hair, hair getting ripped out... scary stuff!
And no, she had long, eel like hair the entire time. It's unfair.

That's disney... the princesses always look beautiful - no matter what they're doing. Even their dirty closes look great! They're all virgins, they marry the perfect prince... you're right, it's unfair - but's as I said, it's Disney
