Hey looks real nice for a 3D model. Though it works great as a 2D toon character, it will be most interesting seeing it translated to 3D.
keep up !

Cool design, think the hands and feet will look good in 3D. Waiting for the final model!

Very Nice, would be nice to have a top view for the hand detail, 3 fingers or 4 etc. I like it generally, it will be good to see how you make the eyes in a 3d package, prey tell, what software are you intending to use?

Really? Then that's a delicious trap.
Nah seriously, I assume that his "hair" and torso fooled me.
Also, for some reason he reminds me Gaz from Invader Zim. Thatβs probably because of his color and his attitude.

I might have to take 3D animation for the animation course I'm taking; I wish I didn't, then I could spend more time on my 2d animation. T__T
But yeah, maybe 3D work could be good though, it seems like an interesting medium. How much have you worked in it prior to this?

you need a top view if you want to 3D I think :]

the top head is a clean sphere, I dun really need a top view at all once i complete one half of the body i just copy out the other half and the top head is completed.

Good luck. I just recently learned 3D modeling too, so it's really rewarding! A thing to note: make sure you have the proportions equal on both sides. A good thing to do for the front view is to just mirror the image across the exact center.

I like him. At first I thought it was a girl because of the torso of the side view. Can't wait to see that finished.

only the leg in front of the side view should be showing, so when you're molding it from that view, the back leg doesn't become part of the shape of the leg.
the same thing with the hair, the leg armor and the knobs on the helmet.
if you were to model the side view of the helmet you have now, the knob would appear in the middle front of the helmet.

oh they were just for visualization thing, anyway, i just need to model out one half of the body and then clone out the other half.

I wish you the best of luck! It will be very interesting to see the final product when it comes to life!
I don't know much about 3d, but are you going to try setting up a bone structure or something for it so that you can animate it?

Alternatively, he might be using laziness as a substitute for foreshortening.
