Description Took this direction as a new year resolution '~'
No paper base, this was 100% tablet work, from rough draft to final polishing touches. Tried giving some gradients to the lineart as well, as colored lines don't match with the overall style. It's a somewhat simple drawing but took almost a day to finish, the line art been the longest part and I still need practice on it.

Another alternative would be to draw on paper, where I feel the most comfortable then ink digitally.

EDIT: Just realized that i missed her waist line on the left OTL

You own a Cintiq right?

The trick would be to sketch at a smaller resolution before expanding it for inking, since working hi-res from the beginning is a bit tricky. But that's probably me xD

Hell yeah, all tablet is the way to go. I've been drawing that way since I joined the Marines. Do use the linework layer or just a regular layers for your lineart. I like to use the regular layer to sketch and do the finial lineart on the linework layer; its got a a few cheap little tools like the line tool and curve tool.


The proportions on the rifle look a little off but looks good none the less.

Ah yes vectors xD Tried them a while ago but did not really liked the outcome, despite the obvious editing advantages.

Been working on separate layers from sketching to inking, working in rasters with the stabilizers enabled feels more natural to me. Haha well, I did not spent much time in the rifle, since a bit of it got cropped away. I'd have to watch out for that later on. *_*

Kudos to you for honing your craft and embracing new technology. I really like the lines and composition of this piece, and find it easy to wonder the story behind this gal's being in this moment in time and what the future holds for her. I've done a lot of outdoor work, so I've come to treasure the moments one feels the pressure off and can indulge in the simple pleasure of gulping down some water to soothe a dry throat. "Stay frosty!" nevertheless. Nice job and looking forward to more.

Hehe, I've been pushing myself into inking digitally through the years where I had my tablet at hand. XD Truly a test of steadiness and eye to hand coordination, hopefully it should get better if I keep practicing on it.

Always a good feeling to get some fresh cold water on a hot summer day.
