Description
A dogfight between a MiG-29 Fulcrum and a JAS-39 Gripen C, who wins?Wanted to give a go at trying stuff that I don't always draw or paint. Many thanks to for introducing me to the radial blur tool in Photoshop, which helped to create that dynamic explosion effect.
EDIT: Stronger contrast and luminosity, some perspective skewing on the flares, and a much more fitting title~

Depends on the skills of the pilots, the time of day, who gets the jump on who, etc...

MiG-29s are awesome, but with bigger RCS and less technologically advanced than Gripen, 60-74% Gripen wins, but if the MiG can dodge the first missile and outmaneuver the Gripen, MiG wins

Yeah the radial blur effect is good when you want to add the air wave shock effect to a picture.
Overall very nice work. Love how you draw the fighters. Gotta start drawing those as well.

I still have some troubles with fighters, especially the cockpit/canopy outline. But well, it's mostly a matter of perspective. D:

yeap yeap. You should mabe look at blueprint pictures of fighters to get better ideas on proportions and details.

Yep, the JAS-39 Gripen (or what I call in Philippine folklore as the Sigbin) is a new match for the aging Fulcrum. Think that it could handle the heat?

Wasn't the AA missile's explosive is also follow with tungsten metalstorm, I mean, shrapnel? In such distance the Gripen will be totally crippled, even it's not torn apart.

Yeah, someone mentioned it on the LS the other day...it's one of the tiny detail that I overlooked while coloring. Well, let's just pretend that this still shows the split second before the shrapnel hits the fuselage of the Gripen~ xP
