Description
This is a collab between myself and the wonderful ~sihnstarr This is a very personal and emotional piece for both of us. Alot of time and tears went into this piece, and has deep meaning for us both. The photos and words/text are by sihn, the photomanipulation is by me.I know its huge but at a smaller size it loses to much, and this piece is important to us both.
Thank you sihn for allowing me the honor of working on this project with you. It is a privilage to call you my friend.

God, looks awesome... just a shame that I don't have a bigger screen to get an overall idea of the piece. Anyway, all the texture and type work looks awesome. Wonderful job, you two. Really wonderful.

I can only describe this as beautiful pain. Lovely and tragic at the same time; words and imagery meld beautifully.

Her I'm going to be the blathering idiot and simply say how amazing and touching this piece is. I could go on and on with details but that would be only mimicing what others have already said. So instead I will simply give you a bravo!

Wow... the collaborations people do have the potential to be some of the best pieces on DeviantArt, and this one realizes that potential... Different styles merge together in a multifaceted approach to something greater than the sum of its parts.
That said, even the individual parts are quite good alone. The poem, dark and cryptic, conceals a greater depth within its words. The visual art, however, shows us that a picture is worth a thousand words. The black, soulful eyes and expression of great sadness are enhanced -- not obscured -- by the artistic implementation of texture. This is followed by three more pictures, each equally powerful in its imagery: A decayed hand reaching around the corner of a decayed wall; blood flowing into a rusty drain; a second view of the pathetic creature. All four emphasize the extent of decay, but from two distinct angles: The first and last focus on the subject's great sadness, emptiness, while the second and third focus on the grosteque nature of the decay itself.
Obviously a result of collaboration is the typography. Poetic words given much more meaning then they already had by a specific visual design. The font is the perfect choice, while the color and layout are equally positive in the overall piece's approach.
While it would have been easy for these two artists -- and I take no liberty in calling either that -- to simply throw together some quickly textured photographs and meaningless words and still end up with a presentable piece of art, both artists went the extra mile to change 'good' to 'great'. They say ninety percent of the time goes into the last ten percent of the work, well, they went for a hundred percent. The result, a glimpse into the psyche of a "discarded toy" which cannot die, conveys the supreme effort put into it.
