Description
Edit March 27, 2010:Wow, everyone, thank you so much for the Daily Deviation! I am so honored. Truely! I have no words. This is such a surprise to me.

Last Animalocalypse.
Again with the title, I've yet to come up with a more creative one. I want somthing that incorperates "learn", "learning" etc. somehow.
I just can't take the title "The anatomy lesson" (or I more accurately "Dr. Tulp's Anatomy Lesson"), because that's just plain rude to Rembrandt.
Which by the way, in case this watercolor here does not ring a bell, here is the father:
[link]
I opened the series with a famous painting spoof ([link] ), and closed it with a famous painting spoof. This was how I brought the series together as a whole.
I hope you enjoyed Animalocalypse, and there could very well perhaps be more someday (but probably not for a long while).
I welcome you to see the rest, if you'd like! -- c

Not to be a bitch about things, but isn't the painting called "Dr. Tulp's Anatomy Lesson" rather than "The Anatomy Lesson"?
I'm just asking because this is how it was worded in a book I own.
Regardless, that is both adorable and hilarious! A great spin on things!

You know I'm not sure! I think you're right, though. If it was worded like that in a book then that is probably the correct title.
Thank you very much

No problem! This happens to be a piece done by one of my favorite all-time artists, so I just thought I'd throw it out there and see if it was confirmed.
Great work!

THis is excelent I always found kinda creepy the original painting but know it has gone a new level of creepyness.
In addition, it is very original and kinda makes me break preconceptions its a very intresting painting. Also make me feel like watching something from Rene Girard.
Rlly rlly good achieved loved it

This is spectacular and really quite chilling. We're dissecting cats in Anatomy class and one of them went missing. I wonder what it would be like to see a zombie cat with puncture wounds and a broken jaw waltzing about the school, perhaps searching for vengeance.

Thank you
Hahaha, scary!
We dissected cats at the beggining of the term as well, and we definitely had some interesting experiences.

Thanks!
My intention was to see what kind of reactions it would evoke. I tried to make it as creepy as possible, by painting with dark, dreary colors.

I believe this is biology class reincarnated.
Great stuff. Is this a use of watercolor?

Hahaha, yes indeed.
Thank you
And yes it is watercolor!
This was a part of a twelve painting series I called "Animalocalypse". It was about switching the roles between animals and mankind. All of them were done in watercolor.
The rest are located in my gallery if you are interested. This was the final painting of the set.
