The Pariah Confederation's flag is a miscoloured UN flag in gold on a red field, defaced with a sword.

The Pariah Confederation itself is one of the largest organisations in the world after the Apocalypse. The Apocalypse, as it was called on Earth, was merely the Earthly manifestation of a pan-universal event most commonly called "The Weavefall". The war that took place across Earth was mainly fought between the demonic forces sponsored by Bel, Lord of the First, and various human factions opposed to him, both ancient and new. The Pariahs were formed from one such group known as the Outcasts, a group of ex-military and armed civilians, who fought against both Bel and the Terra Orsus across western Europe.

In the closing days of the Apocalypse, an Outcast army led by six heroes was responsible for killing Bel himself and crushing the last of his main hordes, when he had manifested on Earth's mortal plane, at the Battle of Salignac in southern France.

After the war, the Outcasts suffered many changes and challenges, not least the death of it's legendary commander Lazarus Starborn, the dispersal of the Outcast Heroes, and the realisation that Earth is just one world in a greater multiverse.
The Pariah Confederation itself was born out of the power struggle after the death of Lazarus, a civil-military government loosely modelled on the Roman Empire. Other surviving or resurgent states in Europe have sinced been coopted into the Confederation, and expeditions into still demon-infested North America are continuing to be fought. In addition, clashes with the Empire of Light continue to be fought in Asia, and the religion/cult known as the Temple of Selune continues to preach ever more diverging messages from the Pariah's leadership.
